Also, you're comparing your live personal experience of meeting Jay Mohr with video footage of him in Cormier's physical presence which is likely to skew your assessment of Cormier's size if you're drawing analytical comparisons from these different types of observations.

His height and thickness with his wrestling acumen is what makes him so beastly. Definitely a fighter who knows how to take advantage of his low centre of gravity to beat bigger opponents. A lot of guys his frame never develop that because they get stuck in that wrestler mentality of cutting a shitload of weight and being the bigger guy. Not many guys like fighting as the smaller guy. That's why guys lile BJ, Frankie, Hendo and fedor are such great legends of the sport. And DC will join them if he takes the belt from Gus.

People who have wrestled Daniel have said in the past that when he puts the clinch on you its an adjustment because you never felt someone with that strong a core. Just look at what he did to Mir he had Frank pinned to the cage like nothing. Not that Mir has a fantastic wrestling background but to watch him utterly powerless is something else all together. Daniels could possibly pound for pound the best wrestler to step into the cage. Dana is going to drag out any fights between Daniel and Jon for sometime.

EDIT:In other news the cage height is at least 6 feet and he is around 2 to 3 inches below top of cage.

Height does matter (literally).

In the case presented in the gif. that you posted, Cormier benefited from the advantage that a lower base of gravity awards to the shorter wrestler in close-quarter takedown pursuits.
