Crime Dallas Officer Kills Man in Apartment "She Thought Was Hers"

The only issue I have is the "lock her up and throw away the key" over a, mistake? We're talking about a women who not only dealt with the ins out and of being an officer, but likely would never have committed any sort of crime whatsoever her entire life. She fought crime. She had one bad moment where she wasn't paying attention and shot/killed a guy, and likely panicked afterwards. If I'm being honest yea there needs to be a punishment or consequence, dude was literally sitting in house watching basketball, but unless we are proving she purposely went there to kill him I wouldn't be ok with some life murder sentence either. Two wrongs don't make a right.

If some idiot walked into your relative's house mistakenly, and blew them away without hesitation, would you have this same outlook?

I mean, I don't think it's murder 1, but it's definitely bad enough that a life sentence with decent parole eligibility, shouldn't be off the table. Mistake or not in entering the wrong apartment, she took a guy's life, and that was no accident. She shot to kill without thinking. There should be a fairly significant punishment for that kind of bumblefuckery.

people ARE passionate about their own lives, that is why the reaction. they are putting themselves into the dead victim's shoes, rather than the killer, because this can happen to everyone - you sit at home minding your own business when someone walks into your apartment and shoots you dead and get away with it because it was a tragic accident? fuck that noise.

Nah I think people are using this as an agenda for race issues, hating on white women privilege (should have seen this thread a few days back lol) or purely anti-police.

At the end of the day this was an accident. And it can't be reversed. What is done is done. She is going to feel guilt for the rest of her life.

At first I assumed the dude was fucking her and she got pissed because he ended it, but as I've read more and watched more, it seems that wasn't the case.

Yes, people don't think that being a police officer should give special privileges when you kill someone. You don't think its justified that people are upset she was given preferential treatment that wouldn't have been given to an ordinary citizen in the same situation?

An accident is when you spill a water bottle. Not when you kill an innocent person

How long's it going to take the Jury? Surely they won't have an answer until tommorrow earliest?

Really don't like the amount of hate the woman is getting. Would fold terribly in jail. But I fear she'll get manslaughter and x amount of years.
Awew poor amber :(

She was banging both guys and her partner told her to end it with the guy she killed or she was banging both and the guy she killed snitched her out to her partner and she went up all pissed off and killed him for snitching.

At the end of the day it was an accident? Guess what. It wasn't a fucking accident. It was a retarded bitch who is stupid ass fuck that killed someone. And it was her fault. She is a stupid piece of shit who should not have been allowed to carry a gun. It was gross negligence, and and absolutely inexcusable. I hope she gets as much time as possible, and suffers in prison for 20 years.

Don't be a scumbag and try to act like people who are upset are mad because "if the races were reversed, the killer would do at least 20 years." I don't give a fuck what the races are. A stupid bitch walked into someone else's apartment and killed an innocent man living inside it. She deserves to burn.

Cops should be held to a higher standard. She's been given every benefit of that position in this matter including; not being arrested on the spot, which allowed her to delete messages between her and her lover, not having her apartment searched until she was given opportunity to remove whatever she wanted, having the Texas Ranger testify in her behalf with a bogus reconstruction, and having the fact that her victim had weed in his apartment publicly erred.

That's just off the top of my head here.

I mean yea but, no? Look at it in reverse, if it was you in that random moment after having lived a straight arrow life. One moment in your entire life that likely would never even come close to happening again. Would you be like, "yea sign me up for that life sentence, it's only right"? I highly doubt it. I'm not saying that she should get off free or get a slap on the wrist. Just that the calls for 1st degree murder and life sentences seem unjustified in the context of what happened.

I agree but I also think 2 years isn't enough but I'm not sure what is the right amount. 9 years I feel might be too much I don't know. Id have to really think about it and I don't care enough to invest the time.

9 years isn't enough, she'd be out in less than 5. That isn't nearly enough time for murdering someone. 20-25 is more appropriate.

She should get at least five years and IMO that would be a very lenient sentence. Anything more than 15 years would be too much though.

Pretty much how I feel about it too. Anything within the 7-15 years window I feel is ideal in this circumstance so we're pretty much on the exact same page.

So now you can claim castle doctrine as long as you think it's your house. That's insane.

One of my favorite comments:

"You shot him in a Subway."
"Your honor I have sandwiches at home. It's fucking hard to know where I am."
