Crime Dallas Officer Kills Man in Apartment "She Thought Was Hers"

If it turns out:

1. This was a big, motel style, shared hallways apartment house.
2. The cop's actual unit was next door on the same floor or in the exact same position on a different floor.
3. The cop had very recently moved into the residence.
4. The door was ajar.
5. The lights were out prior to the shots being fired.

I might consider this a conceivable, unintended accident.
Seems the moral of the story is to Always use the dead bolt when inside. Sad the young man’s life was cut so short :(

So, not being murican, what's her sentence likely to be? I know you guys go big at times, but I also know you make every excuse possible at times too.

I read somewhere that that dude's hand gesture is a white supremacist thing. Is that true or just the internet being the internet?
<Dany07> ..... eyeholes in a klannsman's hood?

Makes you wonder how many people use the internet while drunk or high.

Youth Pastor no less. Going to be hard to spin this as anything remotely justified.
As is typical Yahoo commenters have the usual "there is more to this story" rationalization.

I can now understand, more than before, why BLM is a thing.
People like her and the system prove them right.

How this bitch only gets manslaughter for killing an innocent man in his own home is insane. Deprived him of life and will only see 2-20 years(thats what manslaughter gets you in Texas)

Her defense... of course.

I don't think she's been officially charged just yet . . . they may still go for a higher charge.

The chief initially said the department was seeking an arrest warrant for manslaughter, but said Saturday that the Texas Rangers had asked Dallas police to hold off while the state's Department of Public Safety investigates the incident.

If she walks and is simply fired I'd say you're correct . . . hopefully she's charged appropriately and actually does some time for this killing.

I feel confident in saying she might do five years.

Unless her charges are upgraded

Supposedly the theories they knew each other have been disproven and she somehow posted $300,000 bail

Speaking of, how did they prove they didnt know each other? I also read that it was "debunked" about them knowing each other and didnt think twice about it.

I think it was related to a picture circulating with the victim and 3 other women. Folks were claiming the cop was one of the women.

I've always thought it was murder. I said that in the OP.
We'll add it to the laundry list of your wrong assumptions. The state investigators who held up the arrest for an extra day vetted those social media fabrications, in addition to other facts not released to us, and decided manslaughter was the way to go.

Yeah, and it was three of his co-workers. Some might have been photoshopped, not sure. Rup linked it above. PWC, his accounting firm, identified those women from the original photo.

There’s something circulating on Facebook claiming she’s a white supremacist and shows her in a picture with a dude holding up the “white Power hand sign” aka the OK hand signs. People will make up anything to be divisive.

You're conflating multiple things. I said:

1. This looks like a murder to me.
2. People on social media correctly identified the name of the officer.
3. They also said they found pics of the officer with the victim. If the person they identified in the pics is actually the officer, then that lends credence to this being a murder.

1 is an opinion. 2 is a fact. I assume you're saying 3 is an assumption? What is being assumed?
