Cyrils Ganes style is not Muay Thai even though he competed in it

If you use punches, kicks, knees, elbows it's Muay Thai. Straight up.

The style in which you employ those weapons has nothing to do with whether it's Muay Thai or not.

There is no rule in Muay Thai where it says you must stand in an upright, back leg heavy, stationary stance.

He looked like the world champion in there sparring some up and comer.

The urgency for tom to knock out Cyril in a rematch is real.

He needs to train for the knockout, fuck the rest. Kick him if it takes that.
 
He learned the dark arts from Jon. He has taken it to the next level. Im honestly surprised jon didnt come down and hand him his blackbelt after delivering a double eye rake. That is like the wheel kick of eye pokes.

No but there is a traditional Muay Thai style. You can bring whatever style you want for sure but if you go to Thailand and learn from a Kru then you will be be taught the typical Muay Thai stance not a sideways on hands down stance.
 
Well since you don't watch muay thai, you should know that styling is part of judging. So you get points for how pretty your fight game is and how it resembles classic muay thai. So that's why muay thai fighters fight differently in the ring. In the cage, nobody uses traditional muay thai since they have to be weary of grappling from opponents. You might see flashes of some moves, but watch any thai fighter in MMA and you'll see they use boxing stances and kickboxing moves. Gina Carano for example was an accomplished thai fighter before transitioning to MMA, yet her cage fight game doesn't resemble muay thai.
 
Gane is a Pro Stand up fighter, now adapting into mma. Tom must use Jones strategy and take Gane down, if he stand and bang. Tom will lose..... I think Gane would beat Jones in a stand up fight to, but not in mma as we already know.
 
He is a 300lb shredded ninja turtle, it wont look like Muay Thai when he's throwing the fights.

Muay Thai was the first combat sport he trained, he started when he was 24, just to get fit. BTW, muay thai has many styles.

Gane's current style is typical of MMA factory (Imavov, Lapilus, Gomis). Long range striking with lots of movement and feints. Their philosophy for fighters with a striking background is to avoid wrestling using distance management. The idea is that it takes too long to get a pure striker to be able to wrestle against MMA wrestlers, so it is faster to teach them how to avoid wrestling entirely and it preserves their striking skills.

He has never trained savate or anything other thanMuay Thai. He was a pure Muay Thai fighter who adapted to MMA.
His Muay Thai skills are still very visible at close range. He has elite knees and elbows.
