Making Nunes take a fight at WFLW before getting a title shot is silly though. She has fought at that weight class before, no?

Yes, several times. Including a win over Julia Budd, Bellator WFW champion, which took about 14 seconds. Budd is now 11-2, with her only other loss coming at the hands (well, arm bar) of Ronda.

Nunes is 8-1 and on a 6 fight win streak where she's knocked out everyone except Valentina in the 1st round. Of course Cyborg will fight Holly and not Amanda.

Well, since she gave her weight in the past at 154 and then at 160 when she originally asked to be released from her UFC contract, yes. Because she did not have ti gain additional muscle. And in her case, it was not merely a a choice, as she is a woman competing in a cardio-intensive sport. This requires extensive effort in both the weight room and the dining room. So she cut from 175 to 139, which is more than from 160 to 135 (you know, the cut that she "would die" trying to make) and a greater percentage of bodyweight. So the option of dropping the additional muscle and having an easier cut is one she simply refuses to do.

And please do not post that video of how hard her cut is, as it is entirely her own fault for working so hard to get so big. Instead of all her crying, a little personal responsibility would go a long way.

Every case is different, and my point really is that Cyborg wouldn't be as dominant as she is without having participated in her extra curricular activities.

She would still have the skills to become champion, but I don't think she would be the female Lineker, just walking through everything you throw at her.

It would not have been had she not gained so much weight, now, would it? A woman competing in a cardio-intensive sport needs to put in a lot of effort in the weight room and in the dining room to grow, and to stay lean they often have help from other sources, just like Justino did. She could have not gained 20 lbs. of muscle and golly gee, her cut would not have been so hard.
