Cyborg turns down fight with Nunes, (after Dana's comments.)

I can repect that.

I think Dana is trying to build the womens divisions with as big of fights as possible as soon as possible.

I see no problem with the megan anderson fight in Australia or whoever is the next rightful challenger.
 
Cyborg wasted her time at 145 which likely won't grow any bigger than what it is now. If it does, it'll be long after she retires. She would have won the 135 belt and made much more money even with less muscle mass.

Sorenson had a point deducted for an illegal blow in the first round. She makes a reference to it on her facebook. The fight was held in Finney's hometown. I have not gotten around to seeing that fight yet.

I check around last week but didn't find it so I can't comment on it beyond what I have read about it.

Hard to see her comment there so I cut and pasted it, then put it in bold. Finney gets tons of crap due to her record not being great but she is fairly tough. Several of her fights were close. She is fairly tall and thick but has super short arms with her style of fighting - boxing heavy brawling and halfway decent bjj but not good wrestling (positional grappling) that hurts her. Her lack of even decent wrestling in the past cost her several fights in the middle and early parts of her career.

Remember Valentina Shevchenko didn't finish Finney. Finney lasted into the second round vs. Cyborg. It wasn't until later in the third round that Holm KOed her. She is not great but she is tough and has been doing better in recent fights.

She did nothing but call out 135ers to come to 145 because it was "unfair" to make her go to 135. It was how she stayed relevant while beating up nobodies.

Now the 135 champ wants to step up and she says no because..... Pam fucking Sorensen deserves it more?! Who the fuck is Pam Sorensen?!! Was she actually serious when she said this or is she just fucking with Nunes?

The 145 division has no future because most women aren't 175lbers with the musculature of a man, who cut 30 pounds to fight. That's why there's 2 people in the division right now and Cyborg literally had to pull a stranger out of her hairy asshole to pretend otherwise.

A complete disgrace to the sport.

Cyborg... SMH. Would be a huge fight against Nunes. People might actually care about 145. Hopefully her next fight is against Alpha Cat or Megan Anderson. Make the fight somewhat interesting.

Dude. She's not a 135er, why keep fighting them? LOL let the 135ers fight themselves! She just fought one, no reason to make another "money fight" next.

And there will never be any one worth a damn at 145 if 135ers think they can just bounce around between the 2 classes for belt grabs.
The 145 division is here now. It makes no sense to not build it up. It's going to take time before quality fighters come.

I would like to see Nunes and Borg as well, but Borg isn't wrong, and she's thinking about the long term of her division.

And the criticism of her calling out 135ers is not very accurate here. She was calling them out before there was a 145 division, and she called out 3 girls specifically, all of which had also expressed interest in fighting her.
And she wanted to fight Ronda because she didn't like her

If she stays in the division to defend the belt against contenders her size she’s “entitled.” If she beats top 135ers coming up it’s because they are undersized. If she cuts to catchweight then she’s holding up the 145 division.
