Cyberpunk vs. Steampunk... which theme do you prefer?

A steampunk prostitute has maybe a peg-leg. Or a telescoping eye. But that shit would be straight-up handicapable as hell, like it would double as an espresso machine or possibly a concertina. Cyberpunk sex invariably means falling in love anonymously with something more monstrous than you could possibly imagine. Like an alien robot. Or your same sex.

Good point. Cyber sex is already assumed to be gay (this day and age). But cyber sex in a full cyberpunk setting would likely entail sex with a gay malfunctioning hybrid-dog-insect-cyborg that would make you froth out the mouth from cyber data rabies and overdose of bioelectro-psychostimulants, complications of which would be non-prosecutable by cyberlaw, unless you weren't able to pay enough space-credits for the act, because you died, in which case your family would be sued and imprisoned as slaves of the state, and kept alive an extra 400 years for further slavery production, organs being harvested and milked for synthesizing more data rabies

Nah, screw that. I voted Cyberpunk. Neuromancer and Snowcrash take some beating.
Although maybe if we added Dieselpunk and Biopunk categories...
 
Steampunk is cool and all but is this even a question? This is going to be a landslide like those Alison Brie or Alexandra Daddario threads in P&M.

Cyberpunk all the way.
 
Overall, Cyberpunk. But Steampunk done right (like the Bioshock games) is pretty damn charming as well.
 
I dont know the ins or outs of either, but judging by the pics i chose cyberpunk.
