This is what bums me out. I don't want to see anything scaled back or any corners cut. I don't know why they can't just keep the game on it's maximum setting and press that to PS5 discs, and then downgrade the rest of it for PS4. I hope they don't end up downgrading everything just to make it work for this gen, and fucking over the next gen releases.

I'd rather they just cancelled this gen's release altogether. I wasn't planning on buying a PS5 for at least 6 months after release, but I'd be willing to step it up if they push the game to next-gen only.

But certainly they're not gonna do that. There'd be a shitstorm the likes of which they've never seen before.
given that they are going out of their way to give Witcher 3 a free PS5 upgrade, something tells me they will make good on whatever the Cyberpunk graphics issues are.

You want to hear something funny to think about? The first promo video for this game came out before the ps4 or Xbone had launched

That’s just out of good will to man kind. They’re letting console players a chance to experience the best piece of artwork in history the way pc players got to

Wow I thought this was 100% BS but I looked it up and your right. It was announced in may 2012. That’s pretty insane.

I don't believe it's graphics related. Like I said graphics are easily scaled back using dynamic resolution, lower resolution models and shadows etc... Gameplay and physics? Not so much without compromising the core integrity of your game. My guess is one of two things:

1) Some feature(s) they really want to be in the game are pushing the XB1/PS4 CPU's to it's limits causing big performance problems and they don't feel confident to release the game in that state.

2) There are some game-breaking bugs in the game that they are having trouble squashing. As in, issues where missions literally can't be progressed due to scripting bugs or things of that nature.

Are you able to explain in layman’s terms what such bugs could be?

I might get this if I can find a Series X. Wouldn't even consider it if the next gen version didn't come free

Is announcing a game 4 years before they started production on it supposed to make it sound better or worse?
Considering they released one of the best RPGs of all time within that time period, it isn't *that* bad.

Video with XBX/XSX gameplay.

Some thought:

- Runs pretty smooth on current/next gen consoles, but a clear difference in resolution. The XSX looked clearer and crisper.
- Amazingly detailed worlds, and just really well done VA.
- Gunplay and driving looked improved.
- The animation for the non important characters and sidequests looked kinda PS3/Xbox 360 era. Probably created using AI.

I really looking forward to it now though. The game looks super immersive. They still use waypoints though. Waypoints are the bane of current game design. You never get fully immersed and it always feels like your moving from point A to B, instead of exploring and doing the detective work in finding locations.

Well it looks good, but gameplay seems to be GTA with a very average FPS element

Hopefully there is an option to turn those off.

Well.... its running on the X1X far better than I expected it.

I'm still going to wait for the next-gen update next year, but its good to hear its running pretty decently on the XBX, although there was no mention of framerates between the two versions. The X1X is guaranteed to be only running at 30FPS max, but I'm curious if the XBX will be running at 60FPS at launch.

One last thing that stuck out like a sore thumb for me - Keanu Reeves voiceacting... well... isn't good. There's a huge difference between acting on a set with other actors in costume and being in a soundroom with only a mic and script, and I'm fearing Keanu didn't make the adjustments to put in an impressive voice performance. In the few lines he had he sounded... uninspired. That one bit about 'two sexbots would be too much for even him' sounded like it was supposed to be humorous, but fell completely flat.
