Wow so many delays. Color me now concerned about the quality. The one game I’ve been looking forward to the most.

Part of me wants it to be a flop so I can laugh at the CDPR fan boys. But I also want a game to enjoy, I love living open worlds even if I hate futuristic shit I'm hyped for this.
But their delays give me more time to decide what GPU to upgrade to.

You dont spent millions on marketing a certain date in major markets and countries, only to say 'Hey we wont win GOTY, lets move it'....

I guess it's that they want the release to coincide with all the arbitrary GOTY awards they will receive. Not a terrible theory, but I'm sure they're just tightening up some things for launch.

Thats not how it works.

They wont be eligible for this years GOTY awards, if they release on the delay date.

I think he means that CDP know they wont win the award, so they'll postpone to compete for next year.

I honestly don't think that matters. I don't think there are strict guidelines for video game award shows awarding GOTY. They aren't The Oscars. Pretty sure I've seen a few get that award rather prematurely, and not too deservedly by a host of sources. It's so arbitrary. Damn near every semi-big game has a GOTY edition, because some awards crew somewhere gave them one.

I mean I pointed this out before this recent delay was announced.

The frames in their promotional material have been bad outside of the prerendered stuff. Even their latest videos about the gangs and such. If their promotional material is having performance issues what's the actual game going to be like?

Something is wrong under the hood still and is likely has everything to do with trying to develop simultaneously for every single platform in existence even fucking stadia.

Stadia is probably the easiest one to develop for. It's the Xbone and PS4 that is the problem. They should've just skipped this gen and published it on the next.

Its too diluted. I think 4-5 major awards should count though, like the VGAs etc.

I'm actually happy they are delaying what isn't complete yet.. unfortunate it's not going to be out within the time they said but i'm not mad, i'd rather something closer to a finished product and a wait than not.

I don’t think they’re going to delay it again into 2021. The game has gone gold, at this point they’re just trying to make sure that whatever potential day one patch that will likely be needed will allow the game to work and not be a broken piece of shit.
