Man I taste the amount of salt in the video game forum recently.

Lol at whining about graphics. The reception this game gets will have nothing to do with graphics or frame rate.
Actually, for mainstream consumers, graphics is the #1 factor of getting their attention, period.
Its sad, but true.
That's why all the new trailers of the consoles are showing off flashy cinematic trailers as their selling points for exclusives.
Mainstream audiences mostly don't care about all the character menus of JRPGs, the expected hours of how long it will take to beat the main campaign, or all the details that we hardcore gamers dive into when determining if we'll buy a game.
I don't know of any games that were sold by solely graphics. Witcher 3 had worse graphics than it's gameplay trailer and still was hugely successful.
It only has a negative effect if the graphics are bad. If it is on par with other games the quality of the game is more important
Off the top of my head I can think of two games where the graphics were the primary selling point, namely the original Unreal and Crysis. Unreal was marketed as a “Quake 2 killer” in graphics. As for Crysis, I’d expect that it’s reputation precedes it.

It could be a thousand things. In the past it's probably been simplest for them to remove anti-aliasing effects, but I'm not sure they would have put any AA in at 4K in the first place.Downgraded graphics? Like less tracing on their rays?

It wasn't a HUGE seller at first. It wasn't even in the Top 10 bought games of 2015, I believe. But as the expansions came out and the price lowered over the years it eventually sold 28+ million worldwide through word-of-mouth.
And the Netflix series dropping at the end of last year helped.
'Bad' is a very relative term.
The game got all kinds of awards and was considered great long before the Netflix series came out
Unless you’re about 5 feet away you won’t notice a huge difference.I bought a 4k TV for a reason, forgive me if I want my games to look as good as possible.
Fact: better is better.Unless you’re about 5 feet away you won’t notice a huge difference.
True but most people aren’t set up to notice it.Fact: better is better.
They aren't little details once you have them, though. If gaming is important to you, and you've had the best, then going back to subpar is really hard.
Like how you've been dealing with an HDD for 5+ years while the rest of us know SSD speed. So when you guys get your XBox or PS5 and say "Wow, the loading times tho!" we'll be like "....really?"
It's not even a matter of graphics, just the frame rate and loading times. Those are important IMO. 60fps is very noticeable compared to 30fps, and 5 seconds loading is much better than 30+ seconds. *shrug*I go back and forth between PC and console all the time. The difference is so little I don't care anymore. When I say it is little I realize there is a difference I just don't care enough maybe others would. In fact I just did this with Dragon Age Inquisition. Loaded up my PC and PS4 Pro and while the PC was clearly better I just didn't care much.
I've said it before but I'll say it again this is the first time I really don't care about graphics anymore. Things look great to me already across the board. Loading times and higher frames are the things I'm looking for and higher frames isn't even that big of an issue with me 30FPS hasn't ever really bothered me like it does PC players.
