custom winning gear.

That blue and gold are beautiful. Real leather? If so, what type? The color just looks so amazing. Does not look dyed like others.

apart from their soft type gloves, all Winning gloves are real leather. You mentioned in another thread that metallic colours are often dyed synthetic but this isn't the case for top brands. Over the $100 mark it's nearly always going to be real leather

On a separate note, I'm thinking of getting a FG-3000. The front elastic might give a better fit.

I emailed Steve and Kazumichi to find out why they discontinued it.

Could it be because the nose protector hit the nose? or something along those lines? because I see no reason to buy the fg 2900 for nose protection, because the cheek protectors hit my nose whenever I get hit with hooks or laterals. it works eh.. okay if you're only getting hit with straight punches.

I hope it works like It should

I wanted to ask some questions about the color of the face elastic but the video answers it. Let me know what the results of the email is, I would like to know before making a purchase.

The only difference that I can see is that elastic pulls the headgear together for better face coverage or something.

No problem.

and yes, I would hope that since it's pulled together, it would offer better protection without having as much bulk and weight, compared to the fg 5000.

I wonder if the same effect can be achieved by gluing a piece of strong elastic on the inside of of an FG 2900? Based on the winning pictures it seems like the FG 2900 has a higher ridge of foam next to the nose on the cheek protectors, which may function even better it the two side were pulled close together. It also should be noted that the discontinued FG 3000 is significantly heavier that the redesigned FG 2900. Maybe winning could do a custom redesigned FG 2900 that has the cheek protectors attached like the FG 3000?

Interesting. I'd like to know more as well, looking forward to the answers.

Nice gloves Bamthor. I'm only seeing a pic of the black/red gloves. I'm curious to see how the green/brown looks.

I'm gonna see if I can do a custom color split of the FG3000. Still debating between a 2900 or 3000, but I'm leaning towards the 3000. The elastic doesn't look like it would interfere with my nose.

Death, taking one for the team. Sweet.

No response, I'm having doubts on getting a fg3000, it looks like the elastic might cause some problems and shift the entire headgear when you get hit.

I emailed both Winning representatives like a week or two about the fg 3000. No responses.

I just love the fg 2900 but I would like a tad more nose protection, I love the fg 5000 but it's heavy and a little bulky.

I just may buy another fg 2900 in custom colors if I don't get a response on the fg 3000.

How is nose protection for you guys on the fg 2900?
