International Cuban coast guard kills 4 americans

do they? my limited experience is on cruise ships, small fishing boats, and san pedro to catalina trips (33 miles). My cursery knowledge about cuba and florida keys is about 200 miles through florida strait, could be wrong, even at 100 miles, that's awfully far in terms of cruising range of boats, especially small boats. I dont think it's very probable that you drift 100 miles on boat, especially in the morning, because you'll likely run out of fuel going back.

A lot of boats go from West Palm to the Bahamas, about 80 miles in 3-4 hours. A few big outboards and a calm day these guys are doing 20-30kph They are carrying 300 gal of fuel or more. Could make that run 3x.

Im a sailboat, and under just engine power I could make it to Cuba from FL in 24 hours and burn maybe 30 gallons. For reference I hold 274 gallons + 25 in jerry cans giving me a motoring range of 2000 miles if I'm conservative. Big ass huge power yachts hold a thousand gallons or more.

There was nothing in the post to be wrong about but whatever makes you feel better.

You said "international waters". The article said within 1 mile of the coast. Someone pointed out the error. You became flippant and continue to be combatant.

International waters stop about 12 miles from a country's shoreline.

Class is over. You are dismissed.

Well considering the violence in the waters this year has involved the US killing people in small boats coming out of other countries, maybe the pedants can begin to understand the issue is in waters that are international.

Also, your explanation for someone else's posts (which is bizarre to see) doesn't explain why a short and irreverent post elicited two responses lol

But then, I suppose that would make sense with someone like you who gets upset enough by laugh emojis to spazz out and spam endless emojis yourself like a real grown up

According to my buddy's father, this was about 15 years ago or so, it was $700 to fill his 26ft Bayliner cabin cruiser. He said it had dual 350's in it and he could easily burn a full tank in a weekend if he wanted to.

Break out another thousand.

Just the other day a Florida man was arrested for bringing a live alligator into a Waffle House and proceeding to perform a baptism on the gator with a pitcher of iced tea.
- Poor gator. But now i get why brazilians go to florida

Really curious what the wounded survivors on the ship have to say about the incident.

Yeah I suppose this is just how conservatives are now, taking authoritarian leaders at their word without question. Right now all we have to go off of is what Cuban officials say happened.

If it really happened that way where the Americans shot first, then fuck em. It just sounds pretty unlikely that they just opened fire on the coast guard.

Kind of telling if you ask me that this is where conservatives minds are today. They immediately take the Cuban government’s word for it and start making up stories about drug running to justify it. Like yeah that’s certainly a possibility, but you don’t want to what for the other side of the story? Or see any evidence at all for a thing that the Cuban government hasn’t even claimed?

Interesting that everyone just accepts the official Cuban government statement on what happened. Let’s wait a few days for the real story.

Cuban government claims they were cuban terrorists who live in US.
Now, I understand we generally cant just trust what a government says, but if the US came up with a different version of facts...at this point in time I think I have more trust in the cuban government telling the truth than the US one.
The passengers were Cuban residents of the US and were armed, the interior ministry later clarified in a statement published by state-run news website Cubedebate. Assault rifles, handguns and Molotov cocktails were seized from the speedboat.

According to “preliminary statements” of the six surviving passengers, who are now in detention, the group “intended to carry out an infiltration for terrorist purposes,” the interior ministry statement said.

Two of the surviving passengers were previously wanted by Cuba for terrorism, the ministry added.

Another individual who was sent from the US to “facilitate the reception of the armed infiltration” was arrested and has since confessed, the statement said. CNN has reached out to the White House regarding the latest Cuban statement.

I seem to have missed some shit.

I thought we had a bipartisan consensus of "good, fuck em, don't shoot at coasties".
We do, then homeboy came in thinking he was going to twist it as some sort of gotcha on conservatives in favor of sinking drug boats.

Then he ignorantly spoke about them getting smoked on the high seas.

Leftists desperately trying to vilify conservatives in this thread. Fucking pathetic.
