I don't think, at least the way things look now, that were going to have any long standing downturn. It's quite possible we're already in the beginning stages of it now. I would be surprised if we don't start seeing liquidity come back by the end of next year. Unless of course something shitty happens out of nowhere.

you pay the market if you're on the wrong side AND you pay your interest fees

leaving open perps positions for a long period when on the wrong side will move your liq price closer and closer to you

Ah KuCoin is KYC for me down in Texas so I use Jupiter
