Can someone explain what does solana do that eth can't?
it simply seems like a smaller, less reliable, more centralised, less scalable eth. There is also a huge minting process to subside tx fees going on right?
Is it because everything is notionally on layer1? I see that as a negative personally. A healthy variety of layer 2 chains that offer different approaches based on business needs but take on all security and interoperability from layer1 is a clearly superior proposition.
what am I missing
Faster, cheaper, more scalable.

There is a debate as to whether a single chain versus L2s is the right way to go.

what happens to wise Luke? Got a ton and also waiting for the bull run? seem like what we always do.

he sold half his doge coin on 10th Jan (half a penny) and the other half on 11th Jan (a penny) a few years ago when it climbed up from the depths of its shitcoinness. he had a over a million doge coin (with an average buy in of 0.00025 per coin) and had he waited 2 weeks it went up to 10 cents and had he waited 3 months it hit as high as 72 cents.

RIP in peace

Doesnt cost $25 in gas fees to do a $10 transaction
That's a tired meme at this point. Layer 2

Three other terms I'll throw out there ... Less secure, less reliable, less utilised.

I am not even sure it is more scalable either. A single main net is going to be restrictive if it maintains security.

I just don't see anything unique other than what @meauneau referenced. Good price action sure but nothing game changing use or tech wise.

Also VCs can rug you at any point in time and you know those fuckers are both heartless and also thousands of percent in the green. So you've got this element of risk hanging over the chain that the more mature chains don't have any longer

Not sure you’re refuting anything I said. Also, definitely more utilized. It’s now beating volume and transactions.

Not sure how you can say it isn’t game changing tech wise when it has multiples more transactions per second than Ethereum.

Also, I am not of the belief ETH will be “killed”.

My hypothesis is SOL will run a hell of a lot faster and farther this cycle than ETH. It already has and will continue to do so.

I also am not sold that multiple L2s are better than a scalable secure L1.

By all means, hold ETH. But as an investment this run — it doesn’t make sense.

Lotta shots fired itt.

Welp it was fun while it lasted.
