Crypto Megathread v18 - ETH Killers and The Metaverse

I thought it was referring to something like this initially

But it's actually this

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaverse

"The word "Metaverse" is made up of the prefix "meta" (meaning beyond) and the stem "verse" (a back-formation from "universe"); the term is typically used to describe the concept of a future iteration of the internet, made up of persistent, shared, 3D virtual spaces linked into a perceived virtual universe. The metaverse in a broader sense may not only refer to virtual world's, but internet as a whole, including the entire spectrum of augmented reality."

Fuck knows.
Honestly, I don't really get the whole NFT thing still.
I'm sure I will get an explanation that makes sense eventually but as of now, I know it's an area that is hot and will make some money so I have a bit in NFT related projects which I will level out of when it makes some profit but for me it's a fad still until proven otherwise.

I don't really get what is the appeal of owning limited edition digital art for example or why it would be valued so high.
I like some art for example. And the originals are worth alot. But a digital version?

Here, I just posted some digital art for free.

Same with music or anything else. Yes you could get a special nft audio track but you can always download mp3 files for free. The model of buying music is hugely compromised ever since YouTube and audio downloading became possible.

There are a lot of applications of DLT technology that can change the world but I don't see nft's as one of them.

In terms of making money though, as with anything it's more about how much belief there is in it and hype so it looks like it will be a profitable area for some time.

Which projects you been looking at?

I have honestly not researched that area what so ever

One area of NFTs that I think could be worth a lot is minted NFTs that could then be ported into any game and that could cross platforms/games.

Mint a character, port it into Game A, beat the game, port it into Game B, etc., etc.

This is what Enjin is doing, and I hope it really takes off because I got a big ol' fat bag of ENJ.

Nicely done. So turns out the price dip was due to a single whale rage selling his 230k wild after getting into an argument and getting banned for profanity in the traders telegram group. Lol. Low liquidity means price took a hit - wicked opportunity.

This guy is clearly still mad.
Big selloff everytime price hits 1.50$
he can keep selling me WILD if he wants i'll buy em

Enjin Starter will be big i think

If you aren't following the 4chan /biz section you are doing yourself a disservice. Called FTM, HBAR, Hex and SOL for the longest time.

They also called Eth back in the day, sadly I didn't browse /biz/ back when they were nuts about Ethereum.
Lots of juicy picks there that people don't know about.

Be careful if you're still on Binance. Just remember that you're not locked in with them and there are other options for crypto-trading.

U.S. officials are now reportedly investigating Binance for “possible insider trading and market manipulation.”

"According to a Bloomberg report, the U.S. government has widened its investigation into the operator of crypto exchange Binance to include “whether Binance or its staff profited by taking advantage of its customers.” Citing anonymous sources, Bloomberg reported that U.S. officials, including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, are investigating the crypto exchange operator for “possible insider trading and market manipulation.”

Yeah I'm good, if I wanted to get in the meme stock game and know what people are colluding to pump and dump then I'd probably do it.

You're big on ethereum and you're ignoring a board that called eth when it was trading at 1 dollar?

That ship sailed long before I started buying crypto.

Mate, they also called Fantom, Avalanche, Hedara, Solana, Link, and they're still calling stuff that's trading at the bottom. Reddit is the worst place you can get information from (if you get your info from reddit that is) since one of their rules is "no shilling" and their upvote downvote system makes it easy to manipulate and fud. Reddit was largely unaware of chainlink for example because of that, until Chainlink hit top 10 marketcap.

Once you get savy on how /biz/ works and find out how to reseach and connect dots, you can make loads of gains buying the absolute bottom of legit projects that you can largely only find discussed on /biz/ while reddit will still be stuck talking about ada, doge, elon musk tweets, or projects that has x10-100 since discussed on /biz/

There's all sorts of places to get info on crypto now. This space is a lot different now than it was a few years ago. Nobody's crystal ball is foolproof.

Suit yourself, all I know is that I've made loads of money browsing /biz/ that I would have never made on reddit.

Man Reddit is up in arms about hex. Scam threads. Not a scam threads. Fuck. Don’t know what to do about it.

Ugh. I like binance. This is a reason crypto won’t take off like people think. All these different exchanges. All have issues. When a coin pops they magically go down so people can’t sell and make a profit.your average person isn’t going to deal with this shit.

There certainly will be exchange consolidation. However, once gas fees go down, there is no need for centralized exchanges. Everything can be done via a decentralized swap platform.
