This is a spin off of @Oris79 's thread - https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/do-you-agree-with-the-other-party-side-on-any-issue.4312230/

I consider myself an independent centrist, but I'll admit I've found the GOP to be the lesser of the 2 evils in the last few election cycles (although I'm leaning toward 3rd party in 2024).

So I'll criticize the GOP:
  • Stop talking about raising the retirement age. We're #1 in the world in terms of GDP. There's no reason for it and nobody wants it.
  • They're infested with Neocons (who are just as bad as the neolibs and corporatists). A vote for Nikki Haley might as well be a vote for Hillary Clinton. *puke*
  • The left has been playing dirty for a long time and the GOP is too cowardly to play the same game. Its long over due to grow a pair of balls.
  • They talk a big game about the budget and spending but then just go and do the same thing.
  • They're full of circus clowns like MTG, Trump, Giuliani, etc.

  • You can't take a loss like a grown up.

Most of us aren't hyper-partisan autists like Jack Savage, so this should be an easy exercise.

I definitely lean right

1) like the Dems, the GOP puts their own party over country.
2) stop being Completely inflexible and intransigent regarding any discussion of climate change
3) The GOP needs to hold their own party members accountable for any crime, misdeeds, corruption. You can't profess to be a better alternative than the Dems and commit the same infractions they do.
4) be fiscally responsible.
5) I may take flak for this, but making dangerous folks (those with violent criminal backgrounds), have to go through extra hoops to acquire firearms is sensible.

I actually started my own political party 3 years ago.

It's called the idiot party. Once you realize no one has the answers for everyone and everyone is an idiot, you have set yourself free.

So my criticism is as follows

We are a bunch of idiots.

I don't care about left or right and spend most of my time studying the technocrats like Tavistock and the like.

"I'm not hyperpartisan, but one of the things I don't like about my party is that they don't fight hard enough to destroy the other party, even though they literally tried to end democracy in America after losing the last presidential election, stole a SCOTUS seat, held impeachment hearings for no reason, etc."

Good luck getting people to play ball with this thread given many of the replies so far.

One recent issue I've had recently is that not one political party was willing to stand up against people's live beings ruined by the covid shot mandates. Plenty of other things but can't be bothered when that one is enough.

lol at the balls it takes to say that the GOP has been too cowardly to play dirty right before calling another poster a hyper-partisan.

The only thing of value you bring to these forums is entertainment. Watching posters who are orders of magnitude more intelligent than you repeatedly dunk on the opinions of those "too scared to play dirty" right-wing mouth breathers that, because you aren't capable of developing an opinion of your own, make up the majority of what you post, is worth the price of this here platinum membership.

{<BJPeen} grow up, little girl.

Libertarian.
Should be a rising third party but no leader emerges to lead the party. Also fights amongst itself on party issues. Should be the clear choice for Americans, but is taken over by pot heads and anti government types.

Not stopping here. Republicans have been taken over by Trump and are spineless and mostly worthless. They let the Dems push the law around and do nothing. Trump is the party now. Everyone else should quit calling themselves Republicans and refer to themselves as Trumps bitches.

Dems were a once good party and now taken over by grandpa Joe. Wasted spending, wars, sexually mutilating kids, and now seems to be ok with pedos. The party of perversion.

Lol at republicans being "afraid to fight dirty" when they are literally under a bunch of criminal investigations for how "dirty" they are.

As far as the thread goes:
- Unfortunately the dems are too afraid of the "socialist" label to move in the populist direction. The right will call anyone with a (D) next to their name socialist/communist regardless. If tomorrow Mitt Romney switches sides and joins Democrats without changing any of his core beliefs, he'll be labelled a socialist. Constantly backing establishment candidates like Hillary or Biden over someone like Bernie (who would've massacred Trump in 2016) is likely going to cost them crucial elections when republicans go full fascist and nominate a competent and charismatic nazi as their candidate.

- "When they go low, we go high" nonsense. Worked out well for Hillary didn't it? It's nice that GOP criminals are FINALLY being held accountable for their bullshit, but it's not enough.
Matt Gaetz literally under investigation for sex trafficking minors, Trump is a rapist and known best buddy of Epstein, Boebert was married to a sex offender... and yet none of it is in the attack ads, why? If republicans even had a fraction of this kind of dirt on their political opponents, it would be plastered on every wall, every ad, every banner during the election cycle. Trying to be "civil" no longer works but the democrats are still stuck in the past.

Never understood why Conservatives are so anti-abortion.

If a woman doesn't want a kid, let her get rid of it. If she doesn't want a kid ad is forced to have it against her will, more than likely, she'll probably end up being a shitty mother and the kid will be a burden to society and contribute to a higher crime rate than we already have.

I argued with a Republican about this before and he said "You never know, that child could grow up and be a doctor and save your life." my response was "Yeah, he could also grow up and slice your throat for the $20 you have in your wallet"

This is based but I'll give you your answer as to why they are, it's because their billionaire sugar Daddies are population-obsessed. There is a video with the newly divinely anointed Speaker of the House literally saying that abortion is atrocious and anti-American specifically because it means there will be less able-bodied workers.

I’m on the right but I don’t have a side because I’m thoroughly alienated

I'm on the left, but I think thought processes are much more important than landing places. And I don't think having a party that reflects all my personal preferences is a realistic expectation in a country the size of the U.S. with a system that ensures only two relevant parties, but I don't think that should necessarily lead to alienation.

The problem I'd have with something like this is that we're not talking about unified blocs of people. I think today's GOP is kind of intellectually dead, but Democrats have different individual flaws. Manchin is, of course, frustrating to liberals. Talib is embarrassing. Etc. The party is a mishmash of a variety of different, opposing blocs.

I think the instinct in the OP is fundamentally partisan, in that if you just look at things like an individual, some other person with a lot of the same views as you getting other things wrong really doesn't matter.

Sorry, I had to abandon both parties for fucking reality.

Dems are a bunch of fucking pussies that think the world should be fair and the government has the power to make that happen.

Republicans are assholes that are mad it isn’t circa 1950’s Puritan America, their ideology abandons progress for trying to go back to Americas Golden Era that was only the result of having no global competition because we nuked them off the map and slapped the fuck out of Germany.

Honestly, I think it's just sincere religious belief for most of them, combined with abortion being picked up as a kind of identity signifier.

That's something I'll give you that I disagree with the left about--there aren't materialistic explanations for everything people do.

Competition is actually very good for the economy. And the '50s were a period of liberal consensus that the right flanks of both parties hated, which is why they got together to create the modern conservative movement.
