Social Crazy Christians: Pastors Defy COVID Restrictions [UPDATE: (Cis, White) Gays Behaving Badly]

Lol. I posted those tweets when the whole Easter Worshipper situation was going down. That was one of the fakest outrages I’ve ever seen. I also posted various sources using “Ramadan worshippers” which was apparently a phrase that would never be used.

Proverbs 16:18.

Ezekiel 23:20-21.

There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled.

meh, theres faith unto God and then theres the wisdom of God

but to each their own

Absolutely, until the "to each their own" causes harm to others, which this undoubtedly does. But I agree with your point.

I believe in God but have never believed in the church.
The hypocrisy is mind numbing.

How are pastors going to pay for their mansions and little boys if everyone stays at home?

Think of the small business owners.

1. Greedy? How so? Even the worst televangelists have Paypal. They don't need to gather to gather money. Oblivious I agree with.
2. What tenet of their faith are they transgressing?

It's enough to say they were stupid.

Luke 4:12

Jesus answered, "It is said: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

Most churches here are doing their services on Facebook live. Not sure why they don’t just go that route and keep people safe.
Part of it is they think god will protect them. The more politically inclined ones think this is all a hoax or being overblown for political reasons so they hold their services as normal to try to prove a point.

Where's all the alt-right edge lords to call this social Darwinism?

Luke 4:12

That's a good response. If they were indeed doing so, then they were wrong by their own measure. Intent is key in determining that question.

More generally, it is noteworthy that how churches ought to conduct themselves during plagues isn't a tenet of the christian faith. The vast majority of churches have behaved wisely. Some noteworthy few have behaved foolishly. But it's hard to say nay of them are transgressing any core tenets of the faith.

1. My pessimism tells me people who think they're exempt from things that ail others might be the old school types who believe in face to face begging/extortion for the well being of souls.

2. Poor wording on my part. The well being of their flock is a responsibility they ignored due to hubris.

No, these are the types of ignorant over prideful fools who give Christians a bad name and try to push their un founded ideals on others. Jesus would be furious.

Yeah, I get it. If you are right, then they deserve your censure. I deeply despise that type of preacher.

Jesus would be furious.
One thing being a Christian has taught me is to not assume I know how Jesus would judge another person.

The bible says all kinds of weird stuff if you look. Like it says to keep the liquor stores open for sick people.

Proverbs 31:6-7

Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.

You could also argue about whether or not Leviticus 14 is meant to apply exclusively to leprosy or to diseases in general. No one ever counts that though, since it is factually wrong and a weird thing to do.

Science and technology is the Devil's magic to them?

Lol. This is a pretty good example of taking something out of context and thus obscuring the intent. The clear point of the passage in Proverbs 31 is that kings or other rulers ought not to drink alcohol. A good paraphrase would be something like this, " A drunk king will oppress the people. So as a king (he is speaking to the crown prince) avoid alcohol and leave it to the bums to drown their sorrows." It is an indictment of the effect of alcohol on responsible behavior that comes short of banning alcohol.

Lol. Fair, and true enough.

Yet he wasn't big on worshiping out of gulded buildings, not would he be cool with the arrogance of thinking one would have immunity not only from the disease itself but get a free pass from contaminating others. I doubt, and could be wrong here, that he'd look favourably upon those who are frivolous with the safety of those they're supposed to look after.

"It'll be fine" are famous last words of those who don't help themselves.

If so that makes Christianity booze friendly religion..
