Crawford has no chance against Canelo

The biggest question is can Crawford take the power of someone like Canelo. He has never been in the ring with someone that throws punches with bad intentions and hits like a truck like Canelo.

Smaller fighters occasionally do spar heavies but the big boys instinctively know not to go too hard. Still, they're getting hit by men that are MUCH bigger. It's rough. That's why it surprised me to learn that Canelo does it routinely considering that he started his career at 140 lbs.

Yeah but are these guys Canelo is sparring trying to give him a hard time or just getting used to the power I doubt he takes a flush one and stays on his feet

Damn, dominated him rather easily.

I had it 8-4 Crawford, I could also see 7-5.

One of the best wins in the history of boxing, absurd how good he looked at super middleweight. It's crazy to think how many more names Crawford would've had on his resume if his career was handled differently, and there wasn't so much ducking. He is and always was the rightful #1 PFP.

Crawford credits Bill Haney for first suggesting to go up to 168 and fight Canelo. Wow! This is mindboggling to me.

Earlier in the interview Bud says Canelo doesn't seem to hit as hard as he thought. That's even more mindboggling.

The "rightful" P4P #1 is the guy that the general public views as king. Up until last night the consensus pick was Usyk. Crawford is the rightful king at the moment but to say that he always was? Debatable. It had been a three man race for the last few years between Crawford, Usyk & Inoue. Usyk recently managed to pull ahead of both but now Crawford has surpassed him.

inoue could win decisively and just take it from bud lol

I really don't think that he can catch him. Crawford jumping up 2 divisions and beating the undisputed champ, a future first-ballot HOFer, is ATG level. MJ is a good fighter but even if Inoue wrecks him in a round it won't be enough to take the throne from Crawford. Name value matters and Canelo is the face of the sport. I know that some Inoue fans don't like to hear it but that's how it works. High profile wins are important when it comes to P4P ratings.

The wins aren't bad but none of them were expected to seriously challenge Canelo. Golovkin was so shopworn that many thought Canelo would become the first man to stop him going into the third fight.
Golovkin ofc was over the hill even before first fight...
However it wasn't easy game predicted because he was some kind of nightmare to fight with.
Like Kovalev or Gvozdyk weren't easy game to fight with.

Ofc a lot of ppl had predicted that clen will win confident UD....
Life appeared different.

I didn't watch, but I have always felt bud needed motivation. I picked Crawford to win but I woke up this morning unsure of what I would see.
If an opponent tried to hurt or embarrass bud he got real mean. This time I'm guessing he was in the right place mentally all night. Congrats to bud.

That was the feeling I got watching the start of the fight... Bud was super cautious at first but once he got hit a few times and felt Canelo's shots he seemed to realize he wasn't in as much danger as he assumed, and that's when he started getting comfortable and working into his flow

Oh i love these threads ........
People pontificating before a combat event and then things go the exact opposite way against their supposed expert viewpoint.

I'm gonna read whole thread and I hope and expect to see a full "mea culpa" from the @codfather chappie.

Edit: "mea culpa" isn't actually the correct Latin phrase to use in this context so sorry about that, but.....y'all know what I meant.
