*Could you get a physique like Romero, Lesnar, Mendes, Jones, or GSP...*

Training with miles of road running each? Hours of BJJ and wrestling practice… That is that point. There is a reason decades of bodybuilding literature says that excessive cardio is catabolic, and inhibits muscle growth…

These guys do road running, hours of cardio daily, and still get builds which would hold up in professional body building competitions from decades gone by. If that isn't raining red flags then I dunno what to say...

I think you posted to the wrong person because nothing you said correlates to what I said in this thread

Yes it does. You said people like Lombard [For instance] can get that size naturally… And they can, but you aren't taking into consideration the training they are doing.

MMA training is counter productive to muscle gain. The cardio demands are enormous and yet they are getting almost professional bodybuilder [From the 70's/80s] physiques.

I'm not disagreeing with you.

You're actually just elaborating on the point that I was trying to make.

Soo yes, someone can get to the size of Lombard, having great genetics as a foundation supplemented by hard work.

Not sure why traps are being singled out as a sign - I've got big traps and unless you count weed or wine as steroids I'm clean.

Actually kinda funny, yes. I hate when that argument comes out: "Look at the traps and delts!! huge giveaway!!"

...

GSP? Sure he looked shredded and ripped but in no way did he look like a rounded up beast like some of the guys you mentioned, people that don't play any sports, go gym or keep physically active seem to think anyone that is ripped/athletic are on steroids or PED's

Romero? Yes if you went on a 4 year bulk and a cut.

Lesnar, no. You'd need to have trained since 6 an have good genetics. His mass index is beyond yuge.

Mendes easily yes

Jones yes

Gsp? No way unless you access to hgh and insulin to achieve his distended gut.

I look like all of them combined and I've never taken anything in my life. Genetics baby

look at his avatar, the girls are so impressed by his genetics, they started to kiss themselves instead.

The right kind of hard work. With an elite MMA schedule I find it dubious to say the least.

I have never seen it. Clean guys who live in the gym are either trim or fat/strong. Not cartooney like Overeem used to be or Brock. Those guys who have veins everywhere, skin tears, weird colored skin and balloon muscles are all on something.

Also, that genetics thing is mostly bullshit. Look at Overeem's parents or grandparents. With good genes you can get big & strong, but not to look like Arnold in his prime without help.

Anything is possible. When you're a young guy, with cardio, diet, and training, you can get pretty insanely cut.

But whether these guys are likely clean, let alone actually clean, is another matter entirely. GSP won't be back under USADA for us to know and I expect continued pops from others, or that they'll shrink noticably.

not really.

Disagree, if he was in the UFC there would definitely be people accusing him of being on PED's. Those pictures are more muscular than several of those regularly accused of PED's (GSP and McGregor for instance).

To be a high profile fighter and all muscular like GSP is very suspicious, seems like the guy spend more time on workouts than in fight camps.

why would mcgregor be accused of using roids?he deosnt look like a roider, at all.

I'm assuming its because Nate accused him and people have gone on from there.

Beyond that, there isn't a great correlation between looking like you use PED's and actually using them. Which is why every testing organization uses blood and urine tests instead of visual tests. Visual tests give both false positives and false negatives, so are a poor standard for accusing someone of using roids (ie folks are smart enough not to base accusations on them, but on performance - which of course means everyone that is good is accused. In the immortal words of Kurt Vonnegut, so it goes).

Mended and GSP look to me like normal guys who have lived a lifestyle of working out and training for a long time. Lesnar and Romero are pretty obvious imo, and I was surprised Jones was popped.
