MMA events have been held outdoors before and it's rained. Never seems to be much of a problem.

A half filled-stadium would definitely be embarrassing. Thunder and lightning won't help either. Too big of a disaster risk, I'm surprised they're considering it, I'd like to see it happen if it works though.
