Is this just hyperbole or is the sport getting really big? People keep writing how the UFC is suffering... Could Karate Combat make MMA obsolete???

Since debuting publicly in 2018, Karate Combat has become one of the world's fastest growing sports franchises. It has television broadcast distribution in more than 100 countries through partnerships with leading media properties including CBS Sports, Globo, Eurosport, BeIN Sports and ESPN Deportes.

It could get huge because the owner is very wealthy and has a lot of influence. He's the very tall guy with the pony tail. He does have a dubious past though, he got into trouble for running scams where his business dropped toxic waste in random places.

I don't know, but with the limited grappling it would be much easier for karate and other traditional martial arts competitors to cross over. I imagine Machida, Wonderboy, Pettis and Cung Le would've done very well in KC in their primes. I wish I had a time machine and could make Royce Gracie fight Gordeau, Pat Smith, Keith Hackney and a few others in KC.

I've caught a few shows. It's clearly not marketed to me. I enjoyed some of the fights

He might get beat up by Hackney with gloves on. Hackney was a karateka who knew wrestling.

I'd watch if they used weapons and went full mortal kombat. Dunno how they'd revive dudes though. Maybe in the future when u could sew peoples heads back on with super science lasers or something.
