One hopes he kicks Cormier into a living death.

so much power behind those kicks

...

Cormier has some of the most awesome MMA fails in history.

...

lol - exaggerate much?

Considering people have KO'd themselves on slams, injured themselves throwing strikes, or the famous 'Hello Japan' moment, I hardly think DC's "fails" rank among the most epic.

Not only poor kick defense but

*Poor cardio
*Slow (compared to Jones)
*Lack of leverage or strength over jones
*Smaller size, will allow jones to use his leverage on cormier and will allow jones to destroy cormier from a distance
*His record vs Heavyweights- while good does not indicate that he can beat the elites of LHW or the elite HW's.

Exactly what they think. I think the only person who can defeat jones at LHW is going to be a faster striker who has great grappling or TDD, and who has a build/style that gives jones problems. That person is Gustafsson and if Gust can't beat Jones in a rematch than Jones has nothing left to prove at LHW and might as well go to HW. Jones is already the GOAT @ LHW after all.

Jones is not an amazing striker therefore elite strikers will scare him and if they are quick and light on their feet and move around a lot like Gust, it will make it near impossible for him to grab ahold of them. Oh and expect people to complain about Jones kicks to the knees for messing up Cormiers knees

Lol what? Poor cardio? Has has put the pace on everyone he has ever fought.

I watched a couple DC fights to see what some of his weaknesses were and came to the same conclusion. However, Jones isn't known for powerful kicks. The main thing I noticed was how DC backs up against strikes. When pressured, he tend to back straight back and doesn't off-center very well. If Jones puts pressure on him while staying out of the clinch, he'll have a good chance.

His leg kick defense is actually the way I think he could lose. I think DC is gonna wrestle fuck JJ though so I hope im right

Damn. TS honestly changed my view of this fight. Say what you want about Jones but he is a tactician. He will exploit it.

The tides have turned in my prediction tbh.

I thought Jones would win to begin with, but that second GIF of Cormier doing like a spin kick kind of sealed the deal. Jones will find a way to exploit that shit, you are right. I doubt DC will be able to get anywhere near Jones to grapple.

It's a good point. Pulling for DC but Jone's Kicks work well. Don't forget DC can catch those kicks too. He's not always successful with the full TD but sometimes will wobble the opponent off balance and charge in striking.

He usually finds a way to pepper in shots, even if they are getting better of the striking. He is constantly trying to TD the opponent , if he fails he still punishes them and wares on them. That may help him keep wearing on Jones if he can't take him down. I look forward to this fight for sure!

As clumsy as the low kick reaction looks, it's still a much better outcome than the non existing defense of 90% of MMA guys, which is to eat the kick with all your weight on the receiving leg.

And as others have pointed out, Jones' kicks do more damage to him than his opponents' legs.

His poor kick deffence will be his downfall????? I find that very afence-ive, the best deffence is a good afence like sumwon sed long ago, and the best way to state a point is to not misspell the main point of the sentence.

Humoring your point however, you could probably take a 1.5 second clip of Jon Jones from his various fights and make an ignorant claim that he has poor striking defense (Machida), or that Jones has weak takedown defense because a non-wrestler was able to take him down (Gus). Point being in a 900 or 1500 second fight your bound to have a couple seconds that you look lazy, reckless and susceptible to ______::insert attack here::_______ .

Jones goes for the oblique kick more than anyone else does. Cormier cannot give Bones any room to control the octagon, he's gotta get up in his grill like Tyson did in boxing

I hope cormier has been practicing checking with his knee ;)

^^^ Well, you gotta give him credit for balancing on one chicken leg for a while, it's not like he was slam-dunked into oblivion.
