Cormier crying for money

Too bad he wasted his best years beating up on cans in Strikeforce instead of proving himself in the NFL of combat sports...

He's got to eat, he has a large appetite, good on him.

The best GnP in history. He has so many countless examples of his serious finishing ability when hes on top. Fedor was great too, but Jones is on a whole other level with his ability to end a fight once he gets any sort of posture on top
You do remember that this fight was ruled a no contest because jones was caught cheating..

Before the fight DC brought up how Stipe has bad clinch defense and susceptible off the break. Then DC caught Stipe off the clinch break twice, the second time leading to the finish.

Stay salty my friends.

Cormiers vs. Jones 1 - 800K buys
Cormier vs. Jones 2 - 860K buys
Cormier vs. Miocic - 380K buys
Cormier vs. Rumble 2 - 300K buys
Cormier vs. Lewis - 250K buys
Cormier vs. Gus - 250K buys

Pretty much, without Jon Jones, he is an average to below average draw. He does deserve to be paid well, but he isn't on that McGregor money

those elbows , better than tito's in his prime

remember when UFC did cormier the massive favor of throwing in anderson on like 1 day notice because jones was taken out of ufc 200??

being dana's #1 boy has its benefits im surpised that hes still crying for money

He carried the entire LHW division for years while Jon was busy committing crimes, ruining UFC 200, and testing positive multiple times. Then he stepped up and knocked out the HW champ. What the fuck more do you want? He wants a good payday for the last fight of his career.
I don't know that he "carried the entire LHW division for years." After winning the vacant title in 2015, he had three successful title defenses over the next three years. One of those fights was Rumble, whom he'd already beaten; one was against Volkan, who earned his title shot by beating second-tier competition like Jimi Manuwa, Misha Cirkunov and OSP. Also, I feel like this move to HW was more a matter of him not wanting to cut weight than "stepping up."

I'm not at all discounting what he has done in the cage, but I'm just not seeing how he carried 205 for years (not to mention staining his legacy there by cheating on the scale). Also, about that "good payday" -- he already got a good payday for that gimme fight against Lewis, not to mention the good paydays for his commentary and studio work. If he wants to publicly beg for more money like his teammate Jon Fitch, that's fine -- he just shouldn't go around posting memes of himself, referring to himself as the GOAT, when his top priority is money fights against unranked competition.

Yeah not like he hasn't fought real competition since before he was even in the UFC or anything. Daniel has nothing to prove to you or I.

I mean honestly are Cormier and Cejudo really hurting for money that bad?
That's the wrong question.

The right question:
Are they worth more to the company then they have been paid?
Answer:
It's hard to say with any certainty without opening up the UFC's books but most likely, yes, they are worth more. The UFC put itself in a great position in labor negotiations. They hold all the cards so long as they know all the financials and don't have to open their books to the fighters. How do you argue your worth if you can't show how much money you generate for the company?

That said, we know what the company sold for and we know it won't continue to dominate the marketplace if it doesn't retain the best talent so it is really up to the fighters at this point to demand their worth.

So it sucks fans like you trivialize their pursuit of fair compensation. Who knows, maybe they aren't hurting for money but if they are worth 20x what they are paid shouldn't they still demand to be paid their worth?

For perspective, let's ask your same question from the businesses point of view:
If the business isn't hurting for money should it still try to grow and make as much as possible or just be happy with what it has?
If the UFC did that it would have never sold for billions. It wouldn't be on ESPN and we wouldn't be having this conversation. So why is it okay for the company to try to make as much money as it can but not for the employees?

Reminds me of the time Jones told Daniel to quick ducking, it's going to get him kicked in the head. And then Daniel ducked right into that kick...

You said it yourself. For 3 years he held that title and fought the best challengers that could make it to him. Beating Rumble twice is a feat in itself that somehow gets overlooked.

Gus
Glover
Bader
Manuwa
Nog
Davis

These were some of the top LHWs at the time and Rumble finished most of them brutally. DC took a prime Rumble on twice. Rumble hadn’t lost a fight since getting subbed by Victor close to 5 years prior.
