The trooper was right...lol @ the sheriff implying that the school bus was in danger or something without him escorting it...

He was implying that he should get a break since he is a fellow "law enforcement" officer. *wink, wink

It's funny how the sheriff says he's escorting a bus to a football championship in May.
If you know anything about Football, the Championships are typically in January.

I think he mistakenly said football instead of softball. The sheriff seems to be much calmer than the trooper. It seems like the trooper got triggered and flustered because he thought he was going to bust someone but he really can't because it's a sheriff. The trooper doesn't even see the school bus, which should have been obvious. And yes, the sheriff slowed down after he caught up with the school bus.

My take on this is that the trooper is a self-described "alpha male" type that can't admit when he's in the wrong. He's saying "you need to tell us that you're gonna be driving through the county flashing people" after the sheriff already explained that he had already talked to the local county sheriff about it (as if he's so important that they would have called him personally to let him know). Meanwhile, the sheriff is the strong, silent type who's able to stay cool, calm and collected in tense situations, i.e. a real alpha male and not the type that needs to loudly proclaim himself to be one.

What am I supposed to be outraged about?

The one getting pulled over has the duty to be courteous and respectful, unless the one conducting the stop is an asshole. Even then, it's better to be respectful.

Only 1 time in my career did I have a problem with another cop I pulled over, and it was because this fuckwad was a member of the 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement, which is now 1000 Blacks in Law Enforcement IIRC. The dick baited me into stopping him because I was white. I now identify as plaid however, and it has paid off in spades. That cockface didn't get wood though he deserved it.
