<<Console Wars>> PS5 vs. XSX

They run at pretty much the same FPS, but the XSX has the camera issue with cutscenes and they both still have tears. Its pretty good that the PS5 can perform that well on slightly weaker hardware. The PS5 version also has 'much' quicker loading. The PS5 version is still superior, if only by a little.

But fuck, who cares. Its a modern AC game from ubisoft. There's slight differences in loading [not noticeable to most people] and basically run the same [for the most part]. This is probably gonna be the case for nearly every third party game. People should just pick the console they like and play shit.

I think over time, you'll see the Xbox's power being utilized properly. It's kind of silly to focus on this one game, that's essentially a port that was built for last gen consoles. They're not gonna be working too hard for full optimization on either console. They're likely doing the bare minimum of optimization.

When you start seeing games built from the ground up on these consoles, you'll likely start to see the true potential of both consoles a lot more clearly.

Here comes the crying.

I dont get it, I assumed Mick was a PC gamer? Why defend the XSX?

He's been trolling for shits and giggles I guess. He does have game pass for PC I think so he definitely leans Microsoft. He just favors MS over Sony by a lot. He's trying to hide it but we call see it.

I think in general, controllers are just getting more delicate. I don't know if it's because they're cheaping out on some standard parts, due to all the other shit they put into controllers now, or what. My Xbox One controller started to drift not even a year into it's use. Meanwhile, my PS3 controller just got the tiniest bit of drift...after a decade of use.

I don't know how much stock you can put into Youtube videos and reports into how widespread this issue is, but it seems like analog drift is becoming all too common with the newer controllers. Before it was a rarity., and if it happened it was because you got mad and palm struck the stick. Now it just seems like a regular thing caused by mere use over a relatively short period of time.

Ive only had drift issues with the Switch controller but I got an Xbox One Elite controller and the rubber on the hand grips started coming off to the point where I just ripped it off of one side. It’s a great controller otherwise with lots of options but for almost $200 a controller should not be falling apart like that. Especially since those are made for hardcore gamers who game a lot. I’ll just be sticking with the standard controllers from now on.

I’ve been saying for months he’s as biased a troll as anyone else here.

There’s a complete lack of objectivity and sincerity.

Anyone interested in actual experts discussing these games should just be listening to the guys at DF.

Im not in disagreement at all. Devs will get better at optimising for the XSX to use it to its full potential, but its clearly that PS5 is performing better in general for this title, its also slightly ahead in terms of major third party titles. This will probably not be the case for too long but it is right now.

Oh I definitely think he leans Microsoft, its clear. Im all for gamepass, infact, Im considering purchasing the XSX just for that service. I also have a bias to PS, but I like to look at stuff a little more objectively. Hell, I was mentioning what was so special about PS' SSD if BC games were loading slower than the XSX [when the SSD was one of the main selling points].

It's a superior piece of hardware. Objectively.
And no one is saying otherwise, but AC is performing better in general on PS5....

Most of their analysis is very surface level [and they misdiagnose the cause of issues alot apparently, iirc] but they show the results on video.
The very source cited in this thread has stated the opposite.
How are you the only person interpreting the results differently to everyone viewing it? Im tired anyways. Believe what you want.

What causes drift exactly, especially on controllers that long worked just fine? Is it akin to burn-in on screens but instead of display it's directional/motion so there's this false anchor point it keeps trying to return to?

I'm not.

The person who made the video said he failed to mention in the video (which only exhibit a portion of their overall analysis) that the PS5 suffers tearing issues which he believes would be resolved by dropping the lower threshold of the DRS similar to the XSX.

I'm no fan of @Madmick but you can't call him biased for saying that the series X has more powerful hardware than the PS5 when it's objectively factual..... He also says that Sony has better games at launch which is subjective. Do Sony fanboys want complete fealty to Sony in order to be considered non-biased?

Not a single person disagrees with the XSX being more powerful.

If you look over the posts, and the material provided on the performance of AC Valhalla, its clear that the PS5 has the edge in the performance, whilst Mick is the only person that says otherwise....

If anyone is fanboying out, its clearly him.

Lol, we all agree that the hardware is more powerful. Not even close to the point.

He exists in these threads to point out everything wrong with the PS5 and prop up absolutely anything positive with the Xbox. Even if it means being disingenuous. It’s the most transparent act imaginable.

If the Series X is more powerful, why do games perform better on PS5?

I have no idea what causes it to begin drifting but you can calibrate the Switch controllers on the Switch to reset them. It never worked for me though. I tried all of the things besides opening them up.

There are a few things that can cause it. Wear and tear, dirt/dust, damage to the components are most commonly the culprits.

If it really is happening with PS5 controllers already, (and I take everything with a grain of salt right now, fanboy wars have made me skeptical of every story we’ve seen in here) then my knee jerk reaction would be to blame rushed manufacturing. Also, given the new capabilities of the controllers they may be more delicate and haven’t refined their manufacturing process.

There is things about both consoles that do indicate that they were both rushed to market in time for the holidays. Things like the Xbox underperforming, PS5 not supporting themes or being able to install other SSDs yet all smack of that. But hey, everyone is also getting them as early as the companies could pump them out

Friend pre bought all the accessories and a game for the ps5 and is now selling them <45>he bought an x box instead at well above retail

Developers utilizing the hardware better for whatever reason.
Yes. Also, the PS5 isn't performing better on games. Unless I'm forgetting any, the only game where there is an advantage for the PS5 now is Dirt 5. Every other game shows parity, or trades blows with the XSX outperforming the PS5 in the ideal graphics mode (ex. Devil May Cry 5, COD: Cold War), or is outright superior on the XSX (ex. Star Wars Squadrons, Rocket League).
