<<Console Wars>> PS5 vs. XSX

Bummer, also weird to hear there were issues with the DS4 as well. I have four DS4’s and haven’t had a single issue.

Should be an easy swap out at a retailer.

That would be very cool if Sony lets you exchange them at a store. Nintendo made you send them in for repair which takes a while.

Well I would assume anyone getting drift this early would still be covered under a store’s return policy because that’s a defective controller. I’m sure as time passes you’ll have to send them in.

My Switch just started this year and I had it for three so I had to send it in to them.

It now outperforms the PS5 with the downgrade. That's why they mentioned at the beginning of the video the patch made things worse on the PS5.
They run at pretty much the same FPS, but the XSX has the camera issue with cutscenes and they both still have tears. Its pretty good that the PS5 can perform that well on slightly weaker hardware. The PS5 version also has 'much' quicker loading. The PS5 version is still superior, if only by a little.

But fuck, who cares. Its a modern AC game from ubisoft. There's slight differences in loading [not noticeable to most people] and basically run the same [for the most part]. This is probably gonna be the case for nearly every third party game. People should just pick the console they like and play shit.

Nintendo's drift was widespread. DS4's werent. I fixed my switch with some contact cleaner after a year, and theyve worked perfectly ever since.

Dualsense's issues arent widespread, and remember you'll only see the few issues that a few people online, and not the millions of people whose controllers are fine. Its completely normal to have tech products fail for some ppl, its why we have warranties.

LOL, nope. PS5 is riddled with tears the XSX doesn't suffer post-patch.

No what?

Xbox Series X is performing equivalently well because the lower bound limit was removed. Fore those brief troublesome moments when both consoles are being pushed Xbox Series X resolution is dropping below 1440p but PS5 isn't dropping past 1440p.

He tweeted that he failed to point out the PS5 suffers from tearing the XSX does not, and should also lower their lower bound resolution to match the XSX's performance.

Imagine going through this many hoops to play a game decently on the 30% more powerful machine.

LOL.

I re-watched the vid and it is still tearing in the Xbox Series X version AFTER the patch. Much less but it's still there. And this is AFTER they have to drop that lower bound.

And even if the PS5 is suffering from minor tearing but the frame rate is easily staying at above 60 FPS most of the time. Guess that 30% boost Series X is supposedly enjoying ain't really 30% huh?

LOL, click button to install patch that dropped within a week to deliver superior no-tearing performance on the XSX.

I'm just quoting the source-- DF. Clearly the PS5 suffers more tearing issues, now, as they see it, and requires the same attention the XSX already enjoys with 1.04.

The developers just had to click a button to get this thing functional on the most powerful console ever?

Seeing Mick flail in these threads has become an excellent source of entertainment. Desperately searching for any scrap to validate his months long blow harding about how incredible the Series X would be.

Even going so far as to misrepresent what I’ve said in the past to try and save face.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ga...ering-from-drift-apparently-20201128.amp.html

People are reporting it happening with Destiny 2 and Spider-Man:Mile Morales too.

I think in general, controllers are just getting more delicate. I don't know if it's because they're cheaping out on some standard parts, due to all the other shit they put into controllers now, or what. My Xbox One controller started to drift not even a year into it's use. Meanwhile, my PS3 controller just got the tiniest bit of drift...after a decade of use.

I don't know how much stock you can put into Youtube videos and reports into how widespread this issue is, but it seems like analog drift is becoming all too common with the newer controllers. Before it was a rarity., and if it happened it was because you got mad and palm struck the stick. Now it just seems like a regular thing caused by mere use over a relatively short period of time.

superior no-tearing performance on the XSX
Cmon man.

The game still has tearing [just much less than before where it was considerably more than the PS5], had to have its dynamic resolution lower bound reduced to maintain the same FPS as the PS5, still has issues with cutscenes with the camera being jittery on hardware thats meant to be 3O% more powerful. The game is still clearly better performing on the PS5 [even if the PS5 tears a little more], ontop of faster loading.

Yes and thank you for the update. But the Xbox Series X version is still suffering from tearing albeit less and it can now stick at 60 FPS. Something the PS5 can do without having to drop below 1440p.

And it wasn't too long ago you were making fun of the PS5 for this:

"The PS5 doesn't struggle to run 4K! It runs 4K@30fps just great!!!"

<{Heymansnicker}>

And here we are comparing games where both consoles are running 4K at 30 FPS but XBox Series X needs to remove its lower bound dynamic resolution limit for it to run at 60 FPS.

Disingenuousness is the name of the game.
