Somewhere in his training camp he must have been not doing as well as he realized he should have been doing and it must have clicked for him, like:

"oh shit, I'm still not getting better at this, I'll never be able to beat him, my cardio won't ever be where it needs to be to beat him, my ground game will never be as good as his, I gave 100% in round 1 against him when he had a 3 day camp and no sparring and was just warming up and I BARELY beat him. I might not even land anything next time. What do I do? Pull out? After I made it seem like everyone had illegitimate problems from pulling out against me? How do I go back to FW and still seem arrogant after pulling out and getting dominated by a LW? I can only sell this 2 weight class BS for so long. My idiot fans are going to realize that guys like Condit and Lawler are WW, not Nate. I have the worst most emasculate fans in history of MMA who all fondle themselves when I talk about how much money I make, how pathetic is that? UFC has made my body softer and I can't get anywhere near the body I did fighting in Ireland at LW. I can't keep doing coke to sound flamboyant and confident at pressers. Man fuck this shit I already made enough money and don't have the energy for this I'm already a millionaire, I'll make a few commercials and ads here and there and I'll be good"

"Oh shit the UFC is going to pull me from 200, better preempt them so it seems like I'm in control"

I wonder what Conor haters will post on sherdog if he really retires.

Maybe they'll retire from Sherdog because they would have no point being there anymore.

was hoping for a pic of Conor with a thought bubble showing him getting Stockton slapped

Probably something along the lines of - Fuck, getting beaten up sucks. Fuck this.

They'll be sitting alone in the corner of their local sportsbar wondering why they don't air UFC events anymore.

He will be back. There is nothing to worry about. I think it's all to stir up conversation.

Plus, it takes a lot of money to maintain that lavish life style that he wants. (Mansion, sportscars, etc). Sure he was made a lot of money already, but he'll end up broke if he keeps that up.

Most of the people mind reading and criticizing Conor are not even worthy of being called keyboard warriors, they are keyboard bums. Losers who have never done anything worthwhile or truly challenging in life and get their rocks off by crapping all over him.

Will it be as big as the ronda party?

That was a great day.
I dunno.
Ultimately I don't like to see huge crashes in a fighter's career even if I don't like em, and go from hating on em to feeling sorry.
I'd like to see them both come back, humble and skilled.
