Conor's takedown defence is statisically, factually worse than Barboza and Micheal Johnson

Don't be deceived by the hype of this fight. Even despite facing significantly larger, stronger wrestlers in their careers, Barboza and MJ (both of whom Khabib ragdolled) have significantly higher TDD stats than McGregor, not to mention superior backgrounds in wrestling and grappling (Johson's college wrestling experience and Barboza'a submission grapppling).

The only time Conor faced a high level wrestler in his career was at FW where he was taken down 4 times in two rounds and controlled and smashed on the ground for nearly 4 straight minutes in the second round.

The only time Conor faced someone even close to Khabib's size, Nate Diaz, who is known as a weak wrestler, he was stopped in the first contest and won a razor close decision in the second landing with Diaz landing a staggering 252 strikes to McGregor's 197, he was also taken down.

Edit: Please stop mentioning Alvarez, his offensive wrestling is mediocre at best and he was already rocked/dropped/concussed multiple times by Conor before even attempting a half assed td attempt. He is also not "bigger" than Conor, Conor dwarfed him.

Conveniently leaving out the "bigger wrestler who is gonna ragdoll Conor" Alvarez? Conor's TDD is great, I suggest you watch the BJJ Scout breakdown.

And how did the fight with Mendes finish?

Do you have selective memory or are you deluded with hate?

Can this Alvarez example fuck off already?

Eddie's a terrific defensive wrestler but his offensive wrestling leaves a lot to be desired. He's not even in the same league as khabib.

The "He beat a wrestler before so he will beat this wrestler"-logic is just as useless as the "He got taken down he will lose to the next wrestler"-logic.

What remains though are the clear indicators that show why Khabib is a dangerous match up for Conor and why he definitely has the tools to TD and smash Conor.

    Post your betting slip TS

Oh, you're not betting? Maybe you're not as confident as you pretend.

I think Khabib will win, but it doesn't seem like anyone is willing to put money on it. Conor fans always post their bet slips.

McGregor's TDD relies on his size. At 155, he hasn't fought any good wrestlers

Again with the selective memory, the same could be applied to Khabib.

Barboza is proof statistics don't matter, he sucks against wrestlers and pressure.

But that makes no sense, he got taken down most by Mendes at 145 and not a single time by the 155er in Alvarez.

Well it's also gonna depend on HOW he fights, so his takedown defense it's not so simple as jut numbers... For example Conor at Chad Mendes and Denis Siver fights was all offense pushing foward, light on his feet and insisting in foward momentum... No fighter will ever have good Takedown defense fighting like that, because it's too offensive minded way of fighting...
When he fight Diaz and Alvarez for example, he was being agressive, but actually building his game on the counters and exploiting errors. In that scenary his footwork was defensive, making his oponente out reach or trying out angling the adversary.
His foot work is not Always the same, neither his approach... He defends takedowns better when he is not all balls to wall, as any fighter would. He was not respecting Siver and Mendes, ground or stand up and that was used agaisnt him, we are yet to see if his gonna be wild or not, i don't think he will.
