The Good Fight Foundation has been ruled as tax-exempt by the IRS because it meets the standards of a charity. Conor could legally claim a tax deduction if he made the donation.

Which is why it's obvious (@ claiming tax donation) that it's not about the money. Because he doesn't lose any anyway...

I believe Conor in that he was making sure it was actually used for something good. Because many charities do not, even well intending ones, the money gets lost.
