He's taking a break so have Khabib and Ferguson fight for the next title shot
 
Woodley then Bisping, Jones, and finally Miocic to become the champ in every weight class.

No it is not. Woodley or Khabib would be way more exciting.

Especially Woodley, the hype for that would be enough to bring dead fight fans back to life.

But I voted for Khabib because I think it has a much better chance of happening, and would also be a major blockbuster.
 
I voted T-Ferg. Khabib obviously is in the discussion too. Both guys deserve it.


If Woodley vs McG is next I'm going to laugh though, I'm just going to enjoy this circus from this point on lol.

Agreed x's infinity. I also think they are holding this fight as an ace in the hole. Regardless of what you think it's a huge draw but these other fights and especially the Woodley fight will make more money right now and inevitably that's what this is all about in the end.
 
Aldo: It's the rematch that needs to happen. Was an amazing moment, but can't help feeling we were robbed of an awesome fight. Been a year since he fought at FW, he needs to defend the title against Aldo and unify them.
Likelihood of next fight: 8/10
Likelihood of MG win: 7/10

Khabib: I think this is the fight that makes sense at LW, mainly due to Khabib's post fight speech. Casuals know of Khabib now and it's hard to argue with 24-0. Terribly stylistic matchup for Conor.
Likelihood of next fight: 4/10
Likelihood of MG win: 3/10

Ferguson: This is the most interesting fight to me. Ferguson has been on an absolute tear and 100% deserves a title shot, problem is he isn't a draw.
Likelihood of next fight: 2/10
Likelihood of MG win: 7/10

Woodley: No logical reason for this fight to happen. Would be huge for McGregor to challenge for a 3rd belt, but it would be underserved.
Likelihood of next fight: 3/10
Likelihood of MG win: 2/10

In short whoever McGregor fights next may be handpicked, but he's got a tough fight. Inb4 he fights Diaz.

Khabib wants the "chicken" badly. This is a fight that on paper looks to be Conors toughest challenge. Khabib is thinking easy path to the belt at 155 against Conor. Was Conor making excuses already concerning a fight against Khabib? "He has to show me something, he has to show me activity. He's fought once in 8 years."

El Cucuy is on a fucking tear! This dude badly beat up RDA in his most recent fight and shown why he is a legit threat to the lightweight title. He's on a 9 fight winning streak and it's hard to argue he's not more deserving then Khabib with the recent work history and "activity". I believe with his unorthodox striking and the plethora of sub's he has at his disposal he is actually stylistically speaking the toughest fight for Conor at this point. Tony has grown on me since his time on the Ultimate Fighter and has grown into a complete fighter. This fight is very intriguing.

Woodley! I mean wow. What can you say about this fight?!! If Conor was able to pull of a win here I don't think a 3 division champ would ever be seen again. This fight has a huge historic significance. Conor fans around the world are already calling him the GOAT and if you add another belt to his resume how can you even argue that he isn't one of the greatest to ever do it? Woodley has all the tools to beat Conor and tbh I don't think this is a fight he can win but that's why they fight right. Dana asked Conor before his interview with Rogan last night after his win in the octagon if he wanted Woodley next. Conor was already starting his antics with Woodley before the fights calling him a bitch on twitter. The road is already clear for this fight to happen and it could very well be the next for Conor. Add to that that the UFC would probably make more money from this fight then any of the others just because of the 3rd belt.

So many great options here and really we can't go wrong no matter what is next for Conor. He is pure entertainment and has paved his own way. People crying about him being in control of the UFC because he gets what ever he wants need to shut the fuck up. He is their cash cow and everything he touches goes to sleep and turns to gold. Personally I can't stand the guy but he's like a train wreck and I can't look away either..

You left out Nate as well. I'm have him vacate FW and either A. fight Ferguson or B. move up and fight Woodley.

Left out Nate on purpose. That fight isn't gonna happen right now. Number 1 Nate doesn't deserve a title shot, number 2 these other fights especially Woodley will bring more money to the UFC.

Why are people throwing Woodley up as an option. That fight will never and should never happen. I'm a huge Conor fan but Woodley would tear his arms off.
 
Could actually be Aldo because 1) I doubt that Conor is in a hurry to defend against Nurmie or Ferg. 2) Aldo seems to have reached some agreement with the UFC but has said nothing specific ...could it have been a deal that depended on the outcome at 205?

Lets see if he can get that third belt!
He can always go back to LW and/r FW.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if they do Nate/Conor 3 for the LW belt. I'd be annoyed but I wouldn't be shocked. Like people say it's whatever Conor wants at this point.
