Conor vs Poirier 1

Conor ducking Frankie Edgar & the UFC setting him up against Siver instead is what made me think that the UFC was padding his record & creating a hype job. But Conor did end up being the real deal. After the Eddie Alvarez fight is when I became a believer in Conor. Alvarez on paper had all the tools to be Conor's toughest opponent, but Conor made that shit look easy & became double champ while doing so.

A fresh, young, healty Poirier that goes down with a shot like that

I still can't figure it out how was it possible. It looks like he went down on purpose.
He got hit in the back of the head

Herb should have paused action like they do for illegal knee to grounded opponents

I agree.
He was really pushing the envelope to make 145 and that was age 25,.he was naturally filling out still, he was gonna have to move up.

IV ban is a terrible idea though.
Take away the medically most effective way to rehydrate.
Literally what they would do to treat you for dehydration in a medical setting.

I hate detached from reality shit like that.
It's like taking seat belts out of cars to try to deter reckless driving... people are not perfect and they are gonna do what they are going to do.
Don't force them to have MORE danger, as some sort of backwards logic preemptive strike.

"We gotta do somthing!!"

Not necessarily.
Not if the thing you are going to do is worse than the thing you are trying to fix.
On point.

I don’t believe they should’ve banned the ability to use IV’s in the first place, but from what I remember it was because it could be used to blood dope and mask urine samples & the fact that fighters could seek their own “doctor” to administer it, was a problem.

Im sure UFC, could’ve found a way to keep it, set up a room post weigh ins, available for the fighters, contract some health providers, have the athletic commission and USADA present and monitor the process. I made it sound easy but im sure it would be problems arising in the process to get green lit, USADA probably advised them to just get rid of entirely.
