Conor strikes vs. Cowboy in super slo-mo (awesome)

Suggesting someone like Cerrone who has shaved years off his life to entertain you for a decade would throw a fight is beyond disrespectful. I wouldn’t say it’s ban worthy but have some respect.
You can shit on McGregor all you want but not Cerrone.
Seriously Cerrone has paid his dues to the just bleed gods too many times to be questioned. Most wins in UFC history in the biggest fight available in the sport and he is going to lose on purpose for money? Not even just that, get his nose broken and kicked hard as shit in the face. fucking clowns.

Cowboy got hit by Conor's knee/upper thigh
Bangbro

Cowboy is essentially the most successful gym fighter in the UFC. He has really good skills. He looks like a killer in the gym and in the cage when it is “friendly” but always falls short when it is all on the line or when the other guy pressures him, especially early when he is still getting comfortable.

That fight was the perfect storm. A huge fight when all eyes are on him, against a guy who is known for his one punch knockout power and who was not at all “friendly”.

Add to that McGregor started like he was shot out of a cannon and just overwhelmed Cerrone. Before he could get his bearings, it was over. Like a deer caught in headlights, Cerrone just froze.

Conveniently let out Conors horrible first punch that he misses by 10 miles and cowboy dont bother to take him down. Cowboy would make a good career in WWE.

Delete your account lol

Why the hell didn't he try to move his face back after getting a shoulder in the face three times in a row?

Always hated cowboy. Glad he got embarrassed for peanuts.

On the other hand, you would make a horrible analyst.

Yeah you’re right. If only fighters knew this, knockouts would never occur in the clinch. Say, maybe you should get in the octagon.

He got shouldered right to the face 4 times specifically because he didn't tuck his head in that clinch. It's almost as if every single fighter doesn't bother throwing their shoulder in the clinch because it is ineffective against opponents that they expect to know to reduce head distance as much as possible.

Also clinch knockouts almost always happen on the break, not when they're locked up tight. Say, maybe you should get a catscan or an MRI to see if you have CTE?

So why didn’t the actual UFC fighters and former fighters and commentators or anyone really have the same adverse reaction? Or give the same explanation? Instead, they almost exclusively referred the shoulder strikes as “crafty.” Are you saying every single one of them missed this basic MMA class clinch drill that you’re referring to?

Conor was going for the knockout record set by Masvidal, Cowboy didn’t have time to react

The same commentators that say "OHHHH THAT'S IN DEEP!" At any and every submission attempt that happens before them where the fighters always break out of? Or the commentators that scream "OHHHHH HE ROCKED HIM!" At every significant strike? During the fight the commentators seemed perplexed at the shoulder strikes and after the fight they say the shoulders broke Cowboys nose when in fact, his nose was not broken. Are you one of those guys that only watches UFC PPV Main cards lmao? Maybe go to a gym and ask whether or not it's a good idea to use shoulder strikes in a clinch.

again, it would have been better for him financially to have won the fight. so i'm not sure what you're really talking about.........
That would've involved hard work and focus. Much easier to take a mil or two and give the fans a "fun stand-up fight"

you were in cowboy's camp? he put in less hard work than diaz did for their first fight?

you seem to be dancing around something here captain. was there a condition on him getting a mil or 2 or could he have gotten a mil or 2, and won the fight, setting him up for more mil or 2 fights?

people tend not to focus as much on things that are not as common or threatening. the idea that in an mma fight a primary focus in a clinch in the middle of the cage is to keep your head tucked to avoid shoulder strikes is pretty silly. there's alot going on and to think about there, and it's not just defense against shoulder strikes.

but his face didn't look great after the fight, and all reports post fight were cerrone was suspended for broken nose and mild orbital fracture. so if it wasn't broken, it wasn't just the commentary team that thought it was.

not sure what you're suggesting otherwise........

It's not a primary focus, it's a fundamental basic like keeping your hands up. Again, think about why you virtually never see shoulder strikes.

Cowboy posted a story on his instagram a couple days later that he wasn't sure why Dana said his nose was broken when it wasn't. Straight from the horses mouth.

His time was also limited, (a common occurrence in Mcgregor fights for some reason), but I'm pretty sure Donald went snowmobiling when normal fighters would have been training. Another difference is that Diaz has pride. He doesn't go into the Octagon to lose, at least he always believes he is going to win. Conor made a miscalculation in hand picking Nate, even on short notice, because Nate came in to win and was a bad matchup for him. Cerrone, on paper, could have been a bad matchup for Conor but declared before the fight that he would not even try to take him down and wanted to give the fans a "fun fight" instead. And indeed, he was true to his word, he attempted no takedowns although the opportunities were many and he threw no strikes before he was "rocked" by jumping shoulder strikes and TKO'd by a big toe to the cheek. Even Smith, who had little to no MMA knowledge whatsoever was highly skeptical of Donald's performance. It was so bad that it almost looked rehearsed. I don't think it was but I do know that Donald did not go in there to win, he went in there to lose and grab a big paycheck for minimum effort. He may well have lost anyway but the fans who bought that shitshow deserved a whole lot better and that's why they were the ones who lost, not Donald.

i said all reports, including after the suspensions were reported, included a broken nose. i know what cerrone said after.

and yet, fighters sometimes don't keep their hands up.........

there are many reasons you don't see alot of damaging shoulder strikes.
