How many times have non-title immediate rematches been made in The UFC?

Of those, how many included a title holder from a different division?

An immediate Diaz vs McGregor II officially discredits The UFC of any legitimacy it had left as a sanctioning body. It does not sanction a sport, but a spectacle. Division titles apparently now mean nothing. If all Zuffa cares about is making money, they would do better to sell The UFC and use that capital to open a bank.

Remember when Dana complained about how boxing promoters ruined boxing?

Agree, it's a fucken joke. The fight had a decisive finish, there's a FW belt to defend, and neither fighter has anything to gain (aside from money) regardless of the outcome.

It's always been about making the most money possible. I don't know if I agree with this, but it is what it is.

I really like both fighters but to think this next fight will be a different story isn't very smart. Nate will not be skinny fat so for me this means more money and shine for Nate, which is cool. Nate deserves some money and shine, this is like back pay for mishandling him for so long. The question I have is does this mean no title fights at UFC 200? If they do will they put Nate and Conor ahead of those title fights? Maybe there will be a interim FW fight between Frankie and Max.

They always kept it within certain bounds, even if you knew what was really up. With this they're just abandoning any even flimsy facade of a notion that this is about anything but money

Fall into a fight finder hole and you will see a ton of non title immediate rematches

I don't disagree with what you said one bit. I think a balance is important between money and legitimacy. I honestly believe it all started with the UFC fully supporting the backing of Honda and Mcgregor.

They're looking at it short term instead of long term. Conor can rematch Diaz later and it would still be a big draw. Conor defending his belt against anyone at 200 would be big.

It's possible they believe Conor still holding the belt is more marketable then losing it at 200 and fighting Diaz afterwards.

bit silly to say ask how many immediate rematches there are for champs from another division considering how rarely a champ has chosen to fight in a different division.
You are correct. Was a rhetorical question. I'm assuming the answer is zero.
