Conor missed an opportunity

Who gives a shit. It doesn't matter at this point. Stop obsessing with the past. Move on.

Conor was NEVER coming back from that leg break.

Dustin sent him out on a stretcher never to fight in the UFC again.

Chandler would have hurt him.

Conor is too well paid to get a tune up fight and he would have needed a huge drop in competition level to get back in there and fight and have a chance to win.

I hear Donald Cerrone was going to make a comeback.

why not? Chandler probably would have traded on the feet with Conor. or are you saying that Conor is more shot than Chandler?
Conor is much more shot than Chandler. Since his surgery he has terminally posted pictures and videos online, yet not a one shows footwork of even a bad MMA amateur quality. He's bulked up tremendously and doesn't appear to have meaningfully trained fighting at all. He clearly never bothered with rehab for his leg and it's too late now. Conor has the mobility of Andre the Giant . . . post-mortem.

In hindsight (yeah I know) the Chandler fight would have been a very winable fight, even for Conor who is wasting his fight years. Chandler is short with a small reach, aging badly and has weak gas tank. I think Conor on a bad day still wins vs the Chandler that we saw the last few fights.

Of course the fight was supposed to be made a long time ago, but even then Chandler was a winnable high profile fight. Compare Chandler to all the other sharks at LW and it was Conors best option for a pay day and a prolonged doing nothing on social media.

Conor made him wait for nothing but that fight could have benefitted both Conor and Chandler.

Chandler has a short reach?? His reach if only 3 inches shorter than Conors at 71" Chandler has a longer reach than Holloway, Gaethje, Islam.

If Conor detoxed for 6 months and locked himself away in the gym he could demolish the Chandler we just saw but as mentioned he's literally a barely functioning addict right now, who can't stay sober for a single weekend.

retired conor vs washed chandler would have looked like kimbo vs. dada 5000

First thing is that would have been a competitive fight, not one sided at all. Conor has pissed away not only his good fighting years but good will with true MMA fans and casual fans, in large people don't like him.

Honestly stay retired, never defended a belt, best mouthpiece, ok fighter.

Conor has been a part time fighter since he sparred Floyd Mayweather, and decreasingly trained since. The Chandler fight would have been fun but he never would have trained seriously for it.

"Ok fighter"

I dunno man. Starched Aldo. There was a short period of time at FW where his meteoric rise was unlike any other. Don't forget Dustin may have been fighting Aldo for a title if Conor didn't put him out, too.

Winless in his last 7 and finished in 5 of those.

Watch out.
Sauced up old cowboy coming back to do some reckoning

Yes. A lot more.

He is literally a massive drug addict.

Chandler is well past his prime but he's still a serious athlete. McGregor is not.
100%. He's a drunken drug addict that has gone soft from getting rich. He'd get slept by most of roster at or above his weight and a sizeable chunk below his weight.
