In hindsight (yeah I know) the Chandler fight would have been a very winable fight, even for Conor who is wasting his fight years. Chandler is short with a small reach, aging badly and has weak gas tank. I think Conor on a bad day still wins vs the Chandler that we saw the last few fights.

Of course the fight was supposed to be made a long time ago, but even then Chandler was a winnable high profile fight. Compare Chandler to all the other sharks at LW and it was Conors best option for a pay day and a prolonged doing nothing on social media.

Conor made him wait for nothing but that fight could have benefitted both Conor and Chandler.

true but it doesnt matter. waht other high profile fight would have been winnable for conor? all the wrestler at welter weight would have murdered him and if he would have fought at LW....the fighters seem better in several aspects. Everybody and their mother is beating low iq fighter Chandler. imo it was Conors best option.....probably the reason why it was supposed to happen anyway.

Seeing Chandler now lose left and right confirms it

I Conor taller than Joe Rogan? Is Vern Troyer taller than Joe Rogan?

People thinking Conor is still a LW to this day

The fight would have been at 170 if it ever happened.
I'm sure Conor could have gotten his way in that regard and you know Chandler would have obliged.

Conor was NEVER coming back from that leg break.

Dustin sent him out on a stretcher never to fight in the UFC again.

Chandler would have hurt him.

Conor is too well paid to get a tune up fight and he would have needed a huge drop in competition level to get back in there and fight and have a chance to win.

In his current state I don't think there's anyone on the roster he could beat TBH.

This, Conor is not coming back. People need to stop talking about the so-called failed legacy.

He was an exciting, albeit hyped up, fighter who brought some additional eyes to the sport. Nothing more, nothing less.

why not? Chandler probably would have traded on the feet with Conor. or are you saying that Conor is more shot than Chandler?

Because Conor retired years ago and has since destroyed his body and mind. It's pretty amazing how many people haven't cottoned on to this yet. Barring a road to Damascus moment and six months of clean living, there probably isn't a single person on the roster he could beat right now.

True, it was his last chance to win a fight and talk shit for the rest of his life like he still got it.

Maybe it's Chandler's plan. Perhaps he let Oliveira beat his ass for 4 rds to lure Conor into a false sense of security, then in rd 5 he decided "oh shit, I should probably do something to get a bit of hype" so he cracked Oliveira before letting Oliveira dominate again. Then he made his Conor Callout. After radio silence from Conor he was like "damn, maybe I shouldn't have hurt Oliveira like that, ok then... next time I will let myself get thoroughly dominated by somebody nobody thinks is very good! That is sure to work!"

Chandler was not winnable for Conor

Nah he was.

Chandler is hittable af.

He woulda got McGregor down no doubt, but woulda let it back to the feet - he doesn't tend to ground n pound much, or submit much. He woulda just got Conor down for the sake of it, then got back to feet and got pieced up. Conor's timing is far better.

Chandler would have taken a dive, imo. Get the big payday, and do the company a favour at the same time. Wasn’t Chandler still in the top 5, when Conor pulled out of their fight? Any top 5 win would justify Conor getting a TS (according to the UFC).

Absolutely. Conor has not been training seriously since the Alvarez fight. Even when he came back to fight Khabib he really thought he could just dope around and then unplug whatever secret skills he had fight night. And especially after getting smashed by Dustin twice, once of which involved a typically career-altering injury, he leaned heavily into the drugs. He's done. He's been done. But he'll still be tweeting five years from now about coming back
