You can tell Chael emphasised his personality post ufc 117. In the lead up to that he attacked Silva but it wasn’t over the top. It was pretty witty and seemed legitimate.

He probably realised after that made something like 600,000 ppv buys that it was a marketable thing and ran with it. Then all the over the top calls started coming
