Conor McGregor can indeed legally book a Boxing match without Zuffas permission (proof inside)

The ufc contract is slavery, reebok is slavery on top of slavery.

I don't think that you can get out of a contract by becoming a licensed boxer.

It would then get tied up in litigation. And the ufc's team of lawyers would delay this shit for years until mayweather was so old he is wearing a diaper.

So no....this fight isn't going to happen. Not now, not in 5 years from now

I would guess between rounds 3-5. Mayweather is a very careful fighter who does not take risks. Of course he would easily win each round. But I would guess at some point McGregor would take big risks because he'd so badly be outboxed and that's when Mayweather would put him away. But yeah, maybe round 1 too haha.

I wish the UFC would come to an agreement with McGregor and let him fight Floyd and take a piece of the action. Of course they won't do it because it would expose how bad a lot of the striking is in MMA.
Boxing isn't full striking. Boxing is striking with far more limitations put on it.

Then Money May would make him look like a fool. He would lose validity as a fighter, after he already did by Nate. Many casuals would get off his nuts and his star wouldn't shine so bright. UFC would drop him, or not give him fights and he would end up being the real loser in the situation.

With enough money in the bank to stuff a thousand blue whales. I don't see what the problem is.

It's an interesting legal theory, but I don't think it would hold up in court. Conor still has a contract with the UFC that he agreed to, and it includes restrictions on boxing as well as other things. As long as they are offering him fights within a reasonable timeframe then I see that contract taking precedence and there being no restraint of trade.

If the plan is some massive payday on the order of 50 million dollars or more and then retirement then it might be worth it to die on this hill. Just keep in mind that he better not have any assets in the US or plan on fighting here ever again. And given the fact that many countries have treaties that include topics like this he may not even be safe in Ireland.

The question needs to be asked: Is whatever big payday he may receive doing a fight with Mayweather worth the harm to his overall fighting career? Not only would Mayweather embarrass him badly in boxing but he would hurt his relationship with the UFC which is currently his long term bread and butter. It may take more time and more fights but I see him making more money with the UFC over the long haul than in one fight with Mayweather. I also think if he can return to winning as a UFC fighter and get some training in other areas he has real potential in both Hollywood and Professional Wrestling.

This is one of the dumbest comments I'm ever likely to hear. McDonalds and KFC are being sued all the time by regular people top law team is great but they can't manipulate laws for anybody.

That's right. Regular people sue McDonalds and KFC every day over breach of contract.

This fucking guy.

In my opinion McG is already going thrugh the worst moment of his carreer, so if he wants to go back on track and avoid to screw everything up he should keep calm and stop this bullshitting.
Assuming that he will face May, maybe he will cash in, but $$$ will be the only thing left on his hands.

Doesn't matter Connor will still have to go to court. If you think that's going to be a quick and simple process your crazy.

It will never get on PPV in the states.
The PPV companies won't touch it once Zuffa legal shows them Conors contract.
This idea/thread is silly.

I don't think Conor cares. He talks about getting in, getting paid and getting out. Let's just say he gets 60 million to fight Mayweather, he can get his ass beat and be set up for life.

The more and more he drags this stupid shit out, the more fans he loses... But like I said before, I really don't think he cares one bit about his legacy as a fighter.

Bloody Elbow also failed to cite the number of times the Ali is ignored, or it's general lack of traction in any state. This article should've been two sentences: Nevada would rule against this. The New York Athletic Commission would recognize Nevada's ruling.
