as a teenager I used to read a lot and thought that would give me a clear life edge over everyone else. As I started to grow into adulthood, I noticed the more important things in life. I have a business in a very competitive field and working with people, beating myself for results and just trying as hard as I can made me grow so much as a person. I thought you were young-ish (maybe you are even with a business) so I was almost replying to my teenager self. But I definitely agree with you that life experience is probably the most valuable source of knowledge/wisdom.

Like all young men with high levels of test that don't read books often, he likes The Art of War by Sun Tzu.
I own a public relations and advertising company that is quite successful and strongly disagree with that, with the infinite amount of knowledge out there it's very damaging to think you know everything and that solid work ethic & planning will be enough, but to each his own.
I agree...
Out of the numerous testimonials/stories/interviews from guys that have reached the top level in their field, especially very succesful businessmen, many seems to believe (strongly) in some kind of "law of attraction" principle.. so I'd take the succesfull people's/entrepreneur's advice over sherdog keyboard brigaders/ basement dwellers who have achieved nothing in life any day of the week ...

I work in the shipping business, am a lawyer and consider myself quite successful. If you cant get a job because of your education then you get a ship-brokering diploma or go to University. You don't buy some ridiculous laws of attraction book and waste time thinking it is going to help in anyway. The guy who is going to give you your future job doesn't give a fuck that you are reading it and your competitors are spending their time doing stuff more worthwhile.
A lot of this crap sells itself based on an almost 'magic' that will happen if you are OCD about something. Being OCD means you are driven, and although a successful mindset it alone is not going to guarantee anything. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill makes it seem like if you dream enough about something and have confidence your wildest dreams will come true. The example used is some homeless guy who gets a job with Edison by bumming his way across America and asking him for a job. I guarantee you, without proper planning and experience (which these books don't assist with) there is fuck all chance a bum can get a job with the worlds biggest ship owner in say his chartering department. I don't care how much he is obsessing about it internally.
Also consider the people who write these books are rarely mega successful themselves. It is not like legitimate smart businessmen (so NOT combat sport athletes) are advocating this crap.
One book/series of essays I can recommend is the Richest Man in Babylon. It gives good business advice through narrative.
I have been trying with no success to get book recommendations from Conor & Coach Kavanagh. Of course this is to be expected considering the size of their followership.
I love their mindset & philosophy on belief and visualization and I would like to read more, besides The Secret has anybody heard or read about them recommending or mentioning books they have read?
Sure thing, do you remember the name of the documentary? And thanks!Watch the Conor McGregor Documentary he has a ton of philosophical parts in there. He reads books in hotel rooms on their down time and things like that.
hes living through mcgregorAn opinion from the online nobody hardly matters.
hes living through mcgregor
and while positive thinking is nice, delusional talk isnt. and hes just delusional nowadays
third post. hes so blind that ne cant see that mcgregor was in legit trouble. maybe thats desperation kicking in. but thats why they chose to fight chad who was in no condition of fightingDelusion is firm belief in something despite being contradicted by reality, so far their reality has reflected their words & beliefs so I don't how that's accurate.
