I’m not sure what this debate is about but that passage in deuteronomy condoning rape was debunked a long time ago. Seize, lay hold, capture, catch hold of— no matter what way you want to translate it, this doesn’t mean rape. Especially when you consider it’s followed shortly after by “lay WITH” which would mean that it is implied to be consensual. And yeah, there’s not going to be a commandment for every single possibility in human life, but there’s at least a verse that covers pretty much everything.
