Conor is still that dude. Time to defend that belt.

If he really didn't plan on ever going back as Dana said I imagine putting on weight and getting a bit older will not make those weight cuts any easier

This is a very valid point. You may be right.

Well either you were listening to the commtary or your analysis of MMA is questionable because McGregor most definitely did not "school" Diaz in the 1st round. I would have no problem with him winning the round but really it was pretty even with both guys landing a similar number of strikes of a similar kind of power.

Again I think there were points early in the 2nd round where Conor did look like he was standing to dominate in terms of offencive output but Diaz never looked hurt and still looked dangerous on the counter before he rocked him.
Either this or that - sounds a bit like you're jumping to conclusions. I understand MMA just fine, and like I said, I might have to rewatch the fight, which I just did. I woke up after four hours of sleep to watch the event (it was aired at 4 AM in my country), then went to bed and slept for another two to come in here and read some reactions. In other words, I was pretty tired when I watched the fight.

And you're right - schooled was probably the wrong word, but I stand by that Conor looked better and landed the harder shots in the first round. In the first half of the second he looked even better, but then Nate poured it on and we know the rest. I think I kind of mixed the shine of Conor in the second round with his performance in the first round and just remembered it differently. I was tired.

Conor was landing but so was Diaz.

My best mate was sure Nate landed nothing all first round. He was only watching what Conor was doind. Its hard to watch guys you are a fan of with any real objectivity.

Yeah, I corrected myself in another reply - Diaz was landing too, but I still give Conor the round for landing harder shots and just generally looking better. Schooled was the wrong word to use. I was tired when I watched the fight, but a rewatch refreshed my memory.

I'm a fan of Diaz too by the way, just a little more of a Conor fan so I was rooting for him.
