Conor HOF Material already?

He has changed it in the sense that everyone sees that sh*t talking is the way to get ahead in the UFC..for better or worse. I'd argue worse.
Um, Tito? Shit talking is nothing new. It's hardly a game changer. Conor just happens to exist at a time when too many goons appreciate that crap.

/I tend to agree with you. Not looking for a fight

Really? Most title defenses? Longest unbeaten streak? Most champions beaten? Most title fight wins? Greatest multiple division titlist?

Could have fooled me. I didnt think he was even remotely close to any of those important championship caliber records. You learn something new every day.

^^^^^^This............

He's a better fighter than anyone currently in the UFC HOF, and he's accomplished more in his career than all but Chuck and Hughes. So why not? Shows how shitty the UFC HOF is more than anything, though.

I have no problem talking with people with different views and opinions and don't get into internet heated arguments. No worries.

I would suggest that perhaps the difference now is the sh*t talking can override skill/rankings in being able to move up the card, where when Tito did it, it didn't have quite the same impact as sh*t talking does now. Like you said, because people appreciate it more, it means more money for UFC so they will promote sh*t talking fighters more these days.

Yes, Hulk Hogan wasn't technically a great wrestler but is still considered the greatest wrestler of all time.

I think after talking that much heavy shit and KO'ing Aldo in 13 seconds he deserves.

As of today, does he already deserves being in UFC Hall of fame?

IMO yes only due to drawing power.

Sportswise he only is 145 champ (beat p4p best fighter), and would need some more achievements (wich he´ll probable get) to become solid HOF material.

But he has changed the sport in many ways and inspired new generations even outside the MMA world

Is he already HOF material?
Fuck no

He has nothing hof worthy

Conor?.... McGregor?
Hall of Fame?... Oh, you mean the promotional Hall of Fame of the UFC.

Yeah, why not, if we're talking the UFC Hall of Dana.

No, if we're talking MMA Hall of Fame.

He could get in the hall of fame the same way reporters do.

Bonnar was involved in the most pivotal UFC fight ever.
Bonnar increased the popularity of MMA, and Conor has undoubtedly done exactly the same. I go for lunch at work and people are talking about MMA now, and that never happened before, and even if it is mostly Conor, they're taking notice of other guys too (Mark Hunts walk away on Mir got a good conversation going). Add to that Conor could retire at this point and he's already had a better career than both Forrest and Bonnar and he's got a claim

How? People keep saying this, but it feels like the Big Lie. How has he "changed the game"?
Bringing BIG numbers in and getting attention from even holywood stars
Everybody called him out
Now champs like RDA want superfights just like him
Maybe I´m wrong but I feel he´s doing something for this sport

I guess it depends if you see the UFC HoF as a fucking joke or not. I guess with DW and Mask in it it really is, and Conor could be in it, but then you'd have to add Sonnen first, because he was the first to shit talk his way to a title in a division he doesnt even fight in (one apparent criteria in this thread). Then you'd have to add Rousey, since she brings in the big numbers and has people in Hollywood talking about her (another criteria in this thread) and has fighters calling her out (yet another criteria). Of course you'd have to add Lesnar first also, since he was really the pioneer of bringing in huge numbers with crossover casuals (another criteria also), since I think Iceman is already in there for being the first one ESPN ever gave a shit about.

But if you think the HoF shouldnt be a fucking joke and maybe the criteria should be about actual fighting, then Conor should fucking the fuck NOT be in there.

edit: I forgot to include Couture semi-shit talking his way into a HW title fight after losing at LHW and 'retiring' briefly, McGregor doing it isnt really a new thing or a game changer

How has he changed the game? How can you measure that he's inspired new generations? What all has he done except won a title fight and refuse to defend it? I mean, really. This should not be a question. He lost to a fighter who wasn't even training. Pathetic notion.

I guess I find it funny that the argument in this thread about reasons why McGregor should be in the UFC HoF from his supporters basically boils down to "well, there are already some truly unworthy assclowns in the HoF, so why not add McGregor?"

Doesnt seem like such a wonderful argument from his fans...
