Conor HOF Material already?

not even close to it., he needs to be a long reigning champ to even consider it

He's had one really big win and considering the hype around him, an even bigger loss. So, no, not even close to being in the UFC's sham of a hall of fame.

People on here really undervalue the Aldo win. That win along with the 6 fight win streak up to it solidified his career regardless of what happens next.

I guess I find it funny that the argument in this thread about reasons why McGregor should be in the UFC HoF from his supporters basically boils down to "well, there are already some truly unworthy assclowns in the HoF, so why not add McGregor?"

Doesnt seem like such a wonderful argument from his fans...
I'm a mcgregor fan but agree with you on this.

His run in the UFC has been pretty legendary. If its anything like the boxing HOF he passed the hall mark a long time ago.

Bonnar increased the popularity of MMA, and Conor has undoubtedly done exactly the same. I go for lunch at work and people are talking about MMA now, and that never happened before, and even if it is mostly Conor, they're taking notice of other guys too (Mark Hunts walk away on Mir got a good conversation going). Add to that Conor could retire at this point and he's already had a better career than both Forrest and Bonnar and he's got a claim
The relative importance is different. Conor is a bonus to the UFC, but they were doing and will do just fine without him. The Griffin/Bonnar fight was instrumental in launching the current age of UFC. That fight essentially saved the UFC and ushered in what can be called the golden era of the UFC.

Yes, Conor has already had a better career, than Bonnar at least. Conor's just not that special or important.

Bringing BIG numbers in and getting attention from even holywood stars
Everybody called him out
Now champs like RDA want superfights just like him
Maybe I´m wrong but I feel he´s doing something for this sport
I don't deny that, but it's hardly a "game changer".

As of today, does he already deserves being in UFC Hall of fame?

IMO yes only due to drawing power.

Sportswise he only is 145 champ (beat p4p best fighter), and would need some more achievements (wich he´ll probable get) to become solid HOF material.

But he has changed the sport in many ways and inspired new generations even outside the MMA world

Is he already HOF material?

Wait, what? How? And, no.
