Conor having bad cardio is a myth

Ya gotta hand it to Conor. Still talked about more than any other fighter, despite having not fought in 4 years and obviously will never fight again. It still amazes me the impact he had on the sport. The whole thing was like a dream.

I mean it was his first pro boxing match and he went into the 12th rd. I've seen boxers in the lighter weight classes get tired before. Usually pros start at 4 rds and then it goes 6, 8, 10 and then championship fights are 12. Also Mayweather poured a ton of pressure on him.

Also according to compubox stats Mcgregor through 430 punches... That's 110 more than Mayweather threw and 1 more than Pacquiao threw in his fight with Mayweather...
He did not go into the 12th round.

Throwing punches that aren't even arm punches tells us nothing about energy expended. But that was pointed out in the post you responded to, so I guess you'll just ignore the fact that throwing effortless punches requires no effort.

usually guys who finish fights and are fun to watch have suspicious cardio because they use more force and speed

while guys who has good cardio use less force and has good defense or chin

he's like khamzat, it's not that he lacks cardio

he just bursts in the first two rounds trying to finish you, if it doesnt works he's gassed

His cardio is average at best for a supposed elite fighter. The fear he feels when he can't get a lucky punch in early is what really drains it though.
You train with him or Coach him? If not, saying what he feels as if speaking for him or stating fact, is odd.

Conor going up 2 weight classes is a myth

He never fought an actual welterweight.

And he couldn't make 145 anymore and function with IV ban.

So really when he couldn't make 145 anymore, he fought LWs, though even then 2 fights against poirier who fought for years at 145 and a fight against Floyd who began his career at 130 pounds.

And his cardio sucks. That's a fucking fact.
He gassed in every fight he had that went more than 8 minutes.
(Except against baby Max Holloway)

the way he lost the first fight to Nate is not normal, second fight he had a really hard time finishing. Against Floyd he also beat himself by gassing out. Professional boxers are ready to go 12 rounds. Not sure what is the question. If he doesnt have bad cardio then at least he doesnt know hot to manage his output
There's a term for a fighter who doesn't know how to manage his energy and winds up running out of gas if the fight goes into the later rounds.

Bad cardio.

Jeez this was a long time ago lol, 10th rd I meant. I knew it was the10th rd but quite often my brain just doesn't function properly and I type the wrong thing, guess I fit in here.

In terms of arm punches, it's been a million years since I've seen the fight but I doubt all were arm punches. There was a lot of movement going on and again the pressure from Mayweather, not saying he has tremendous cardio or anything but it is exhausting when somebody pressures you a lot, Conor is used to being the one with the striking advantage and the one who controls the pace of the fight.

I have done a bit of boxing training and even just doing 3 rds of very light sparring with somebody pressuring you is exhausting.

After the first two rounds, they were far worse than arm punches. I was incredulous and embarrassed for him, it was so pathetic and obvious that he was doing anything he could just to make contact. It looked worse than point sparring.

Conor had bad cardio at 145 too. He was gassed in the chad mendes fight. Started to lose fights at 155 and 170 because he fought bigger guys

It’s not that he has bad cardio, his style is not meant to sustain that type of pace. When a 145er drops Nate 3 times in one fight, you know he is putting everything into every strike

He’s only gassed in ONE fight and that was his first fight moving up 2 weight classes. It’s easily excusable that he gassed in the first Nate fight, he spent almost 2 rounds butchering Nate and trying to finish him. I think he really just wasn’t prepared to go 5 rounds against a cardio machine and thought he would get rid of Nate early, which wasn’t happening so he mentally broke which led to him gassing.

Then he went 5 grueling rounds with Nate and won the rematch. So
what other fight did he gas? The Khabib fight he was getting grappled for 4 rounds which would happen to any one. The Dustin fight he lost mobility in his leg which led to the KO. He even went 10 rounds with Floyd while having a heavy output throughout the fight.

Just watch the Mendes and Nate 2 fights. Conor having horrible cardio is a myth
I don't think his cardio was the problem in that fight. I think he got rocked and turned into a panic wrestler.
