If he does get him down that doesn't mean he could finish him as Conor could still get back up and KO him. Conor is better at finishing opponent's on the feet than Khabib is finishing opponent's on the ground.

This is basically the 155 version of Randy vs Chuck. Conor's defensive wrestling is underrated.

If Khabib can avoid the early knockout, he'll probably grind him out. But Conor has an excellent chance to catch & KO/TKO him early on.

LOL ! what an amazing insight...
The only problem is: You forget how Conor couldn't KO Diaz... and his gas tank isn't any good past second round (and I am being generous).

Khabib can simply press Conor against the fence for the 3 remaining rounds and he's will remain the champion.
Past the second round, Conor is not a threat to anyone.
