it's messed up. i only opened my mind up about him after listening to this asshole called mma quick hits. the only things of value i picked up from that wanker were that dustin is better than eddie, an exciting fighter and hard to hate. as a result i looked past his conor stench, lower ranking ( i was a noob) and watched. been a respectful fan since, especially when he destroyed justin and beat eddie's ass a second time after all the shit talk, the smugness after the illegal knee and the ducking.

Yeah, I've been following Dustin a looong time (well, since his WEC debut) and he's definitely a slow-burner in terms of getting to like him, and I don't know why, as he's a great, humble guy (more now than back then). But his style was always fun, live-and-die by the sword. But after his Michael Johnson fight he started really shaping up all-around and looking not just exciting but sharp and skilled. That's when I started actually really liking him. I also had him favored back when him and Conman first fought.

I don't know the details between the two for that particular fight, but yeah, younger Poirier was definitely more "arrogant" and self-assured, but he never did any personal attacks, so I'm curious as well. I imagine he just did some "generic" trash talk, like "I'm coming to this fight, and I'm going to knock you out". But he's never been the rude type.
