Did I miss something? I didn't hear the UFC say he wasn't still fighting Nate next?
None of all this stuff have to do with not wanting to do promotion or be at press conferences.
Conor's camp is trying to get the fans behind him to give pressure on the UFC but it's not really working. Although Conor have a lot of fans who backs him up, it seems he has an equal amounts of detractors. Seems to me that even though a lot of people will buy PPV's to watch Conor fight, there is a big amount of those people who watch to see him lose. Those people can't be used to pressure the UFC and that is why Conor is failing at using "his fans" for leverage. IMO.
There is only one way any of this makes sense and that is if UFC and Conor disagree on who he is fighting next, after Nate (and now add to that if he is fighting Nate). Conor wants to be in full control of who he is fighting next and the UFC isn't having it.
I've noted that Conor never made any comments to the UFC saying he was fighting to defend his belt after the Nate fight, no matter if he would lose or win. This is where the real issue is. The rest is smoke and mirrors.
IMO
