Exactly, this should minimize the cheerleading posts and encourage every new post to include some actual content. Sure we might get sucked into partisan "like" contests but let's not act like that wasn't happening all over the place already.

That may have been true in the old forum, thanks to the new forum I can now passive aggressively "like" posts that agree with my viewpoint without subjecting myself to any of the rebuttal.

The likes can cheapen the discussion. Unlike before when some one posted "THIS" "Agreed" you can reply to that post and ask them why they agree.

So what do you think.? Maybe we can call out those who have liked posts?

This was a social experiment to see how quickly people would complain about "likes" and how quickly some idiot would passive-aggressively whine that because of conservatards or libtards they were sure no one would "like" their posts. I still don't understand what their thinking was on including a like system for the forum. Maybe getting rid of all the postwhoring by people just quoting and writing "this"? Seems poorly thought out, unless they're tracking our likes for marketing purposes.

I can save them the marketing costs if that's the case, find dick and fart jokebook advertisers to make millions.
