Well you can't just be normal weed high and think Diaz won because I would have thought Diaz won then.....

Fine.

Where do i get this abnormal weed?

Lieutenant Pravitz came to my 6th grade classroom and told me that some of the weed would be laced with crack or angel dust.

He said it would make me hallucinate and see shit like cartoon dragons flying thru the sky.

Where do I get THAT shit?

I wanna smoke some of that Diaz 125 shit.

When I watched it live on the night, I thought Carlos won. After just now rewatching it for the first time since, and scoring each round based on the 2012 scoring criteria - Carlos at 49-46 is a no brainer.

Why was there ever a debate?

Also, whomever edited the clip in the OP had a real hard on for Nick Diaz.

Edited to mention the clip edit.

I scored it for Condit. Shit fight though. Still haven't watched it again.
I just rewatched it for the first time. It was a much better fight than anyone gives it credit for. I think everyone's predetermined expectation of it being a slugfest overshadowed how good the fight was.

It's worth rewatching.

People can disagree on fights. I can see why people score it for Condit, I just disagree quite emphatically. I can see how you get there, its just not how I score fights. To me tho, its wild to be like "Condit CLEARLY won I can't imagine how you score that for Nick" really lol? You can't?

I agree its not a shit fight by any means. I enjoyed it both times I watched it.

Based on the scoring criteria at the time of the fight, Nick's constant forward motion basically meant nothing. The first two components of that criteria were effective striking and grappling, which are considered before anything else.

Carlos had the most effective striking throughout the entire fight, and there was no grappling until Nick got the takedown in the second half of the 5th round. Aggression (forward pressure) and octagon control never factored because the striking was never equal.

The only thing Nick showed through four rounds was aggression. Octagon control only matters when striking, grappling, and aggression are all equal; it wasn't even a factor.

49-46 Condit. I respect that you disagree.

No, i absolutely can't. I think it's absolutely crazy that anyone thinks he won and think it's some clear bias. lol it's fine though. Diaz has one of the most biased fanbases I've ever seen on Sherdog.

Nope, not unless you just disregard the scoring criteria. As others have said just being the guy moving forward doesn't win rounds by itself. Condit outlanded him across the entire fight. I legitimately don't understand how anyone could have Nick winning 3/5 just because he was walking forward looking annoyed while being soundly outpointed. I get people not liking it a lot more than I get them thinking Nick actually won.

Like I hate watching Merab hump people but I never think he's losing the fights going to the cards just because I don't wanna watch the shit 🤷‍♂️

I was a big Diaz fan at the time but I could give a fuck about him at the time of rewatching the fight the other day. I'm well over his antics I'm not a 20 year old hypebeast anymore

All strikes are not equal. "outlanding" based on stats is a foolish way to look at a fight. Nick was landing harder shots. And 90% of the leg kicks Condit landed were nothing. There were so many 1,2, leg kick combos that the jab & straight were blocked and the exiting leg kick was the dictionary definition of a little baby leg kick. Pitter patter bullshit. Condit did a great job of looking busy, I agree.

Eh I always see this narrative and it makes it sound like Nick was landing bombs in between the light leg kicks. He wasn't. He was mostly throwing his hands up calling Condit a bitch while getting punched and kicked. Nick did close the distance at times and land solid shots, but Condit also landed kicks, elbows, etc. and the limited highlights of the fight showed all of this. To beat a guy on his bike outlanding you, you have to really get in there and land some hard shots to counter the volume and Nick didn't have the footwork and the patience to do that.

That's always been the story of the fight to me. Condit fought the one way guaranteed to make Diaz throw a fit because he doesn't like fighting like that and just throw the fight.

And it worked.

Send me your damage meters please. Diaz does a great job looking like he's doing a lot when he's mostly doing nothing.
