He specifically stated that people were up in arms about it and that people would like to see it, so he'd do it again to put a stamp on it. And we possibly would have got that rematch too since Carlos actually signed it, but it was Nick who fucked it up by being a degen and testing positive for weed.

A real gangsta like the Diaz's will fight anyone on the spot. If they get a cool mil first. You foot that bill and I guess me fighting a Diaz will somehow prove your point? Doesn't matter if I win, they'll win the "real fight" anyway. Even if I knock him out, they'll say I was making 'girl noises' or something which I guess makes them the winners again
I have it on good authority that they'd slap the hell out of you for free.

I wasn't suggesting that the UFC fudged the Diaz - Condit fight stats. The point was that the UFC with a confirmed reputation for being massive whores would not be overly troubled to support certain fights or future fights by inflating a particular fighter. Conor McGregor being a prime example of special treatment. Diaz vs. GSP did 950,000 PPV buys. Condit vs. GSP did 700,000 PPV buys. The UFC made more money with Diaz fighting GSP than they did with Condit. Diaz is difficult and was yanked from his first opportunity to fight GSP for blowing off media events. The UFC probably didn't like dealing with Diaz except for the money part which is their prime motivation...
I gotcha...but Diaz didn't 'blow them off' something happened with his flight and he didn't put in an extra effort to make the media event. The UFC would go on to pardon Conor McGregor from 'blowing off' media obligations but when it came to Nick they wanted to make an example out of him.

It wasn't until recently the UFC finally caved into their star power.

I kinda feel like an ass about this, but he came to the UFC and went to decision with Kampmann, and before it was read out, as much as I wanted him to win his debut, there was a thought in the back of my head going "No. If he loses this, the finish rate stays 100%."

Which he did lose, but then decisioned Ellenberger his next time out, so it was all for naught

Imagine that being the narrative for a giant amount of fights. More analysts think he won, so.. who gives a shit? Condit wanting to run it back says nothing. He'd run it back with anyone, and knows Diaz would have been an even easier win later on.

And "real" fighters? I didn't realize sitting on your back crying about wrestlers was real gangsta shit. Them tough fighters who bitch and act like they'll walk away every time a decision doesn't go their way, but who absolutely refuse to do anything to change their attack so that it actually has some, idk, intention behind it.

Real Diaz shit, mo'fucka! 209 or something.

Condit should be lauded with praise - all time chin; all time finisher; all time hairline.

Nope.

"Diaz! Herp derp!"

Condit said he is embarrassed he chose to fight the way he did.
But there’s no way in hell he lost that.
Based on the UFC rule set of course there was no way he lost. But he underdelivered for whats supposed to be a naturally exciting sport because it favors amateur kickboxing and wrestling over anything else. Sometimes not even the wrestling. Nick got a TD on Condit and I guess it meant nothing

Luckily Carlos made up for it by being in the greatest WW fight of all time against Robbie Lawler for the belt.
That wasn't even the best championship WW fight. Hughes vs Trigg 2, Lawler vs Hendricks 2, Lawler vs MacDonald 2... Plenty of better fights.

I just find it funny that all of the ire is focused on Condit for not fighting Diaz's preferred style of fight, and not on Diaz for being unable to deal with it. I get it, Condit talked up a different style of fight, but it was a title fight, interim or not, and he'd have been stupid to give Diaz a better chance to win.

1,2, 5 Judges were ordering wings and watching ring girls asses. No fucking way Condit won that shit, only thing condit did was a shit ton of leg kicks that didnt even slow down Diaz in the 5th. This shit is hilarious, If Diaz did what what Condit did, we would have two bro's running from each other.

The crowd knew, thats why they were booing Condit post fight.

P.S. Welcome to the Gregory Jackson point fighting system of America.

I think the same thing happened to Clay Guida: trained at Jackson's and I think his next fight was with Grey Maynard? and Clay just ran around the whole fight. and I don't want fights to go the opposite way and purely trade shot for shot...but have some balance

let me guess, diaz 3 6 9.

condit won the fight. Diaz has extremely low fight IQ. end of story.
The greatest WW Champion in Strikeforce history has an 'extremely low fight IQ'....lmao I've seen it all; his last string of losses have all been to former UFC champions.

yup dont know a fighter that came out of Greg Jackson more exciting than when they went in. Treats MMA like amateur kickboxing because the rules allow it. Terrible.

I had it for Diaz when I watched it originally years ago. I re-watched for the first time last night. I scored it even more emphatically for Diaz. Diaz CLEARLY wins 2 3 5 and IMO 1. 4 is the only round I could find for Carlos.

Carlos landed more but I really don't grade leg kicks highly when they don't seem to be effecting Nick. "little baby leg kicks" is exactly what they were. Carlos never advanced in this fight. Diaz landed harder shots.

49-46 Diaz.

I expected so much more from that fight , I got myself all amped up expecting some crazy war
