Condit's body of work is incredible.

He was one of the most entertaining fighters of his generation, arguably across two generations of MMA, and he was a finisher with blood and guts performances.

On occasion, two exciting fighters match-up funky and we get a stinker. You can't just blame one or the other, both of them put on that performance. It wasn't very fun to watch and it wasn't very easy to score.

Congratulations! Even Condit was still hung up on it before he retired..go off though. Ik you have an affinity for boring fighters.

Imagine winning a fight so unconvincingly people think he lost. Even non Diaz fans think he lost. Even Condit himself says he’d rather run it back because he didn’t feel good about it.

Yup I’m a proud fan of real MMA fighters that actually want to fight and not amateur kick box for a green check on their record.

I like you man. You're a good poster, but honestly, you made me do it...

I dont think Ill ever get over how mid this fight was and I say that as a Carlos fan whos glad he won. I was telling my friends it was gonna be the best WW fight of all time.... <6>
To be fair it is somewhat entertaining to watch Nick rage at opponents who use even the slightest amount of actual footwork instead of standing right in front of him and swinging lol

Before the Lawler robbery he had a 93% finish rate. He's an all time JBG guy.
I kinda feel like an ass about this, but he came to the UFC and went to decision with Kampmann, and before it was read out, as much as I wanted him to win his debut, there was a thought in the back of my head going "No. If he loses this, the finish rate stays 100%."

Which he did lose, but then decisioned Ellenberger his next time out, so it was all for naught

Imagine that being the narrative for a giant amount of fights. More analysts think he won, so.. who gives a shit? Condit wanting to run it back says nothing. He'd run it back with anyone, and knows Diaz would have been an even easier win later on.

And "real" fighters? I didn't realize sitting on your back crying about wrestlers was real gangsta shit. Them tough fighters who bitch and act like they'll walk away every time a decision doesn't go their way, but who absolutely refuse to do anything to change their attack so that it actually has some, idk, intention behind it.

Nope, Condit explicitly stated he wanted the Diaz fight back in particular.

I’d like to see how you’d fair against a Diaz brother Mr. High Fight IQ.

Some bullshit baby leg jabs. He didn't outstrike shit.
Those stats are UFC stats and Diaz was a bigger draw back in the day, so if they were going to cherry pick the numbers, they would have helped Diaz. Secondly, all the judges and almost every media member scored the bout for Condit. Fan polling afterwards was strongly in favor of Condit. So basically the only people who thought Nick Diaz won that fight are Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz and Diaz Brothers fans who think the Diaz Brothers never lost a fight even when they got beat decisively. It's called "bias", there is an inability with some people to be 100% objective in their analysis...

Lol ‘they would’ve helped Diaz’

no they wouldn’t have, they actually hated working with Diaz. He commanded financial respect and wasn’t reliable to do media.

The entire reason he had to fight Penn and then Condit (instead of waiting for GSP to heal) was because they did not want him to be champion. The only reason Nate is respected now is because his short notice step in to fight McGregor blew the sport up by astronomical proportions.

He specifically stated that people were up in arms about it and that people would like to see it, so he'd do it again to put a stamp on it. And we possibly would have got that rematch too since Carlos actually signed it, but it was Nick who fucked it up by being a degen and testing positive for weed.

A real gangsta like the Diaz's will fight anyone on the spot. If they get a cool mil first. You foot that bill and I guess me fighting a Diaz will somehow prove your point? Doesn't matter if I win, they'll win the "real fight" anyway. Even if I knock him out, they'll say I was making 'girl noises' or something which I guess makes them the winners again

Oh you think you got embarrassed? I did that with Romero/Izzy! And they were all next to me while watching!

Damn, thanks for that. I've somehow never heard this before. The best part,"He was making bitch ass lady sounds and that's not bulls--t. I'm not here talking s--t on him, this is reality. He was making woman sounds. He was running out of the clinch. I hit him in the face and he was going "Oh, oh, ehh" making woman sounds I've never even heard out of a man before during a fight."

I really want to hear Nate replicating the lady sounds, but I can't find the interview anywhere.

I wasn't suggesting that the UFC fudged the Diaz - Condit fight stats. The point was that the UFC with a confirmed reputation for being massive whores would not be overly troubled to support certain fights or future fights by inflating a particular fighter. Conor McGregor being a prime example of special treatment. Diaz vs. GSP did 950,000 PPV buys. Condit vs. GSP did 700,000 PPV buys. The UFC made more money with Diaz fighting GSP than they did with Condit. Diaz is difficult and was yanked from his first opportunity to fight GSP for blowing off media events. The UFC probably didn't like dealing with Diaz except for the money part which is their prime motivation...
